Chapter 125
- KIERA
- "Kiera, calm down and try to focus on your breathing." Jason's voice was gentle, his hand reaching out to hold mine. "Why the fuck are you blaming yourself for everything? We all make mistakes, but we can work through this together," he said, rubbing my back in slow circles.
- I tried to follow his advice, attempting to calm my racing heart and focus on the steady rise and fall of my chest. "Look at me and take deep breaths," Jason continued, his eyes filled with concern and understanding. "Things that happened were in the past; it wasn't you who caused them," he assured me, his voice soothing and reassuring. "You were victims of circumstances beyond your control. But now we are together and happy, right? Kevin is with us; he forgives you, and we are moving forward." Jason's words helped to ease the guilt and shame that had been weighing me down. "Then Aria, our daughter, is us; she loves you unconditionally and sees you as her hero," Jason added with a smile, reaching out to hold my hand. "We have a beautiful family now, and we are all in this together." He kissed my forehead, bringing the oxygen tubes that were helping me breathe.
