Chapter 14

• Fire.
• There's a monstrous fire that devours every life that gets in its way. People were screaming, crying, and asking for help. But none heard their pleas for help. Their desperate voices rang in Ember’s ears. She wanted to help them but she couldn't, she had no power to stop that fire.
• A creature with a cloak. A creepy evil laugh echoed in the place where the fire broke. The creature was happy, so happy and Ember could almost feel the joys it brought to the creature upon seeing the dead people scattered on the streets.
