Chapter 66

• Lord opened his mouth, releasing the neck of the human whose life he had taken in the way he deserved. He had almost mortally wounded one of his own. He gasped loudly and his whole body shuddered at the wave of pain that coursed through him from the several bullet wounds in his body. Only his genetics had helped to keep him from collapsing, but he still felt Senas' also wounded body at his side by way of support as he staggered.
• It was not the pain that was affecting him. It was the loss of blood from so many wounds even when they had closed. However, far from all this, what made him most uncomfortable was that sensation. He felt his link wavering and a stress that made him lose concentration.
• -Luna, where's my mate?- he gasped after a strong wave of dizziness that almost made his paws wobble, but he held his ground. He couldn't look weak, not when his pack was present. At least they had managed to get rid of the hunters they had attacked.
