Chapter 37

• All the effort Selena had to make not to attack her nerves made her chest tighten and the name of her pet left her lips. What surprised her the most was that, even the image of that strange man popped into her mind. It was as if having him around or just thinking about him brought her security, as it had when she had been with him last night. Illogical.
• She advanced a little further losing hope of encountering the village again because there was no sign of it in the vicinity. She gave a deep sigh and if it wasn't for the fact that she was behind her a wolf would sit and wait for daybreak. Right now she was just going around in circles.
• So she forced herself to follow when one of her legs faltered because what she found in front of her was a total void hidden among the trees and bushes, and her body rushed towards it. A curse left her lips as she saw that the fall would be really painful. He tried to hold on to something, but his hand failed. He closed his eyes and waited for the worst, falling down the sloping cliff full of trees and weeds, hoping that they would cushion him, if only a little.
