Chapter 8
- "What the fuck are you..!" He finally lies her down on the seat, the warm hard muscles of his body are so close to her.. not just close but he is practically leaning down on top of her now.
- "I'm taking you to the hospital..." He says gently as he presses in her back while staring intently at her beautiful face.
- God damn in! He can feel his trousers getting tight just looking at her stunned beautiful face while lying on top of her like this.
- "Fuck that! Can't you just leave me alone?!"
- She tried pushing him down of her car but darn it, he's so tall and masculine that with her feet inches height, she doubt she can even move his finger away from her wheels.
- "Will you just shut up and hold your hand tight to stop it from bleeding?!"
- He said making her breathe through her mouth out of annoyance as he finally lets her go and stands up before banging the door closed even before she can seat properly.
- The hell with this arse to talk to her anyhow?!
- She doesn't even know him.
- "Stop this and leave me alone before I call the police! This is kidnapping!"
- She screams at the top of her lunch as he quickly walks to the front of the car and gets himself onto the driver's seat.
- "Do whatever you want." He just said simply as he manoeuvres the car out of the building, not minding the stubborn brat losing her temper at the back of her own car.
- "You, bastard!" She screams suddenly grabbing the wheels making the car turn with a creaking sound and the other cars honking behind them.
- "You, brat!" He immediately takes control of the wheels and give her a deadly glare after pushing her with his shoulders back to the seat. Damn! She would kill both of them!
- "If you already wish to die, die alone! Don't mess with other people's lives being stubborn!" Vincent loses his temper and throws a deadly glare at her briefly.
- "What if there'll be an accident with you doing that?! What if the car next to us meets a tragic fate and all the people inside die?! Can you take responsibility of the lost lives?! What kind of human are you?!"
- He is seriously so mad now. She's moving on impulse and not thinking properly now.
- He looks at her briefly again and sees her frowning deeply at him. She looks as if she'd gotten her grip now after what he said about a possible accident.
- "Now fasten your seatbelt and just hold on to your hand tight. I won't hurt you, I just bring you to the hospital, period.." Vincent trues calming himself as he checks on Gabrielle from the mirror.
- "I've... I've been kidnapped before.."
- She whispered absent-mindedly which made him frown and blink a couple of times. She gulps nervously as she looks back at the cars they passed by. Vincent sighs at that and tries to understand that he must've also stunned her for suddenly dragging her out of the parking lot and taking her own car.
- "I'm not kidnapping you... I'll just bring you to the hospital, Gabrielle. Your wounds have to be treated. I can't just leave you alone to drive when it's bleeding non-stop like that..." He checks on her again. She looks at him from the back and didn't say a thing.
- "My name is Vincent by the way.." He says breaking the ice and trying not to scare her now.
- "I won't hurt you... and I don't think I ever looked like a kidnapper."
- "Don't bring me to the hospital..." She speaks in a whisper as she looks in front at the road now. Vincent briefly checks on her and notices that she's pale. If it was because of him suddenly dragging her, or of the hummer almost cartwheeling on the road awhile ago or the blood that keeps on gushing out of her wounded palm, he doesn't know.
- But she looks so pale and so stunned now.
- "You need treatment. The doctors have to disinfect the wound so that.."
- "Just bring me to my flat..."
- "Gabrielle.." Their eyes meet once again through the mirror. Hers is burning his as she looks intently at him without any kind of emotion.
- Gabrielle is just staring at him blankly that it almost pains him thinking what could be running inside that pretty head of hers right now. Their first meeting is absolutely weird and odd. Just about half an hour ago, they are helping each other in destroying her father's car like they are some good-for-nothing thugs. Then the next minute, they are fighting like cats and dogs and now they are staring at each other as if they are reaching each other's soul through their eyes meeting like that.
- "The Atelier.. Just bring me there, Vincent." She calls him by his name for the very first time and he feels as if butterflies are on a stampede inside his stomach.
- Hearing her now soft voice whispering his name is almost like a drug to him that he feels as if she'd already convinced him not to take her to the hospital...
- Vincent looks at her from the mirror again and sees her lying her back comfortably on the head rest of her own car now.
- As regal as she is now, she repeats herself when she catches him looking at her through the mirror with a deep frown on his confused face.
- "I don't need a hospital. I'm sure you know how to clean wounds. Just bring me to my flat and help me clean the wounds instead, that is, if you're dead serious you want me to treat this wound."
- "You need a doctor who knows how to..."
- "I know exactly how to clean wounds Vincent." She calls him by his name again.
- "I'm a doctor... My father must've missed mentioning that to you and I'm not even surprised. But I am telling you now. So just do as I say and get me back to my flat."
- "You're a doctor.." He repeats in a whisper.
- Why didn't he know about that?!
- "The tabloids must've made me into a bitch heiress and a slut. But I was a doctor before all that." She says looking out the window and watching the huge buildings in Manhattan passing through before her eyes... not minding the pair of deep blue eyes trying to study her soul through her chocolate brown ones.
