Chapter 4

  • "Yeah yeah, but not as sick as Adrian's mom... What stage is it, boy? Stage four?" With that, Gabrielle's eyes grow wider as she inhales heavily before looking at Ade whose face turns pale.
  • "Such a waste if you lose her... She's all you've got... well aside from your so-called career that you too will lose if I decide to make use of this cane in a different manner."
  • "My mother has nothing to do with you and your failure to be Gab's father!" Ade advances and holds the older man's collar in his fist.
  • "Tsk... Tsk... Tsk... Young boy, you have developed some balls... What did my daughter promise you? A fortune? Fame?! A big name? What makes you think that I cannot give you the same in my own conditions?"
  • "I love her! I love your daughter and I care for her more than you've ever done!" That must have been the last straw for her father, pushing the cane to the floor, her father who is as tall and masculine as the model puts his
  • hands around his neck and pushes him to the wall.
  • "Why??! Isn't it true?! You never cared for your only daughter! You treated her like a prisoner in your own castle! When she was kidnapped during our fieldtrip in junior high, where were you?! Did you look for her the way we all did?! No! You stayed in your fucking mansion in New York and let those fucking guards do your job as a father! Your daughter has been traumatized to the point that she became anorexic that time, where were you?!"
  • "You really talk too much for a guy..."
  • With one thud, he pushed the younger man to the wall heavily before grabbing Gabrielle's arms to drag her out.
  • "You're not taking her away!" Ade grabs her, the two men tugging at her as if she's the rope.
  • "Young man, you have your own mother to take care of. As for this young woman over here, she still has a father, she doesn't need another one."
  • "I never had a father!" She butts in.
  • Her tears falling, hating both men right now. Hating Ade for making her remember that awful past she hated the most...and hating her father for being her father.
  • "If you're trying to act like a father now, it's already too late Gabriel Davis! My father is dead, in my heart and mind, I have no parent now! If you think you can make up for all those years that you've abandoned me, you're wrong! I don't even give a fuck anymore if you die in front of me now!"
  • It all came when she least expects it and the next thing she felt was his heavy palm finally landing on her cheek. That was the only time... The one and only time that Gabriel Davis ever laid a finger on her that it made her chuckle.
  • "It doesn't even hurt anymore..." She whispers in between crying and laughing as she looks up at him.
  • The guilt and pain... they were all visible in his eyes... Gabby's tears fell looking at her father's eyes that held emotions she never thought he was capable of.
  • "It didn't even hurt anymore... You've hurt me in so many different ways already, why slap me now when the physical pain doesn't even count anymore, dada...?"
  • Dada... Those words he longed to hear from her again, he's hearing it now but with so much hatred. Vague memories of a tiny little angel running towards him, throwing her arms around his neck as she screams "dada" giggling. Him throwing his attaché case just to lift her up in his arms, her tiny wings taking all the stress out of his system as he brings her to his chest...
  • With jaws clicking, Gabriel Davis look at the young woman in front of him. He turned his little angel into this. It was all his fault. He would turn back time if he could just to correct everything, but that's not possible now. He has a very limited time now to make her feel how much he really loved her... And in that time, he'd bet his hat she won't even believe her anymore.
  • He had ruined her. He had ruined the glint in her eyes when she smiles, now that all he could see from them are anger and hate.
  • "My death may not mean a thing to you Gabrielle Ralph... but I doubt his mother's death would be the same story... Stop this fucked up and childish game and go back home." With that, even before a tear could fall from his eyes, he turned away from the young lady he would give his life to.
  • "I hate you..." He heard her say as she breaks down.
  • Those three words he knows very well...
  • He knows she hates him, but hearing her actually say it is burning his soul even more. To hear his angel's voice spitting words of hatred he never wanted her to say to him even when he already knew...
  • "I wish you never had to be my father."
  • Gabrielle's knees buckle up as she falls helplessly down the floor as she watches his back facing her for the millionth time. Moreover, knowing her evil of a father is winning the game again. She couldn't let him touch Ade or any of his family and knowing how powerful and heartless her own father is... she knows very well he wouldn't bat an eye to do so. He can do just anything to ruin her life...to ruin the lives of people who mattered to her.
  • "The feeling is mutual, Gabby... I wished you never had to be mny daughter.. I'd rather not have any than to have you... " He said trying not to have her hear the pain in his voice...
  • He said every single word without even turning to look at her because the moment he did, he krnew, he would lift her up and imprison her in his arms like the way he did when she was troubled by nightmares leaving her crying at night when she was a girl..
  • With those words said, Gabriel Davis storms out of the room leaving a more heartbroken soul of a girl whose only sin is that she was born in his blood...
  • Whose only mistake is that she had to bear the same name that he has. Gabrielle Ralph Davis.
