Chapter 59 Lorenzo

  • I sat on my desk, running my hand through my hair in frustration. Everything was a mess! Everything that had happened to to this point had been a mess, I was losing control of everything. The bombing had been a major setback and I was still struggling to catch the culprit but now Marianna knew about why I had her kidnapped.
  • "Fuck!!" I screamed and threw the mug on my table into the wall, the glass shattered on the floor and the coffee stain dripped down from the wall. Things were just starting to be stable, to be normal. How the fuck did I loose control of everything so fast? From the looks of it she only knew a portion of the truth, if she found out everything she would never forgive me. It wasn't like she was going to forgive me anyways but I'd rather have her like this than for her to completely hate me. I never thought my past would come back to haunt me this way. I had no one to blame but myself because if I had killed Marianna lie I was supposed to, none of this would have been happening. I set myself up for a downfall. But how could I have hurt her. She might have had that brutes blood in her veins but she was nothing like him.
  • Marianna was the first daughter of Torez. His bastard child actually. It was before he built his empire when he was nothing but an underlying. He had her during one of his many escapades. He didn't find out about her until after he became a Mafia Lord. But even after that, he had kept her a secret. Apart from the fact he had a wife and kids, Marianna's mother was against him bringing her into the Mafia world. When I became his henchman, he placed me with the task of checking on her from time to time but from far away, Marianna couldn't know who he was or the life of the Mafia. She was 17 the first time I saw her, she was beautiful, with long dark hair and deep brown eyes. She was intelligent and witty, and I found myself drawn to her despite my best efforts to remain aloof. I became increasingly interested in her, to the point where I began to worry that Torez might find out. I knew that if he did, he would not be pleased.I was a nobody back then. But I couldn't seem to help myself. I found myself watching her from afar, trying to learn more about her.
