Chapter 7 Alex
- Beth opened her eyes moment later and couldn't help but whimper when she felt a brush of warm wet clothes against her sore back. She gasped under her breath when his hands brush slightly against the sensitive part of her breast in a bit to wrap bandages across her body.
- Once he was done wrapping her up, he made to discharge the water in the sink before handing her some painkillers to swallow. She pulled herself into a seating position once she was done swallowing it, her eyes darting around across the room curiously.
- His room was plain with dark grey wall that matches with the equally grey sheet on the bed. Not to mention the leather cushion that sat beside the bed. There is nothing much to look at which sort of reminded her of her little apartment back home. She wondered if anyone has noticed she has gone missing for the past hours now.
- Beth doubt if anyone has. It's not like she has friends that would probably check up on her after a while. Maybe her landlord would but certainly not her father. She has practically been death to him for the past ten years now so she might as well just disappear from the surface of the earth all together.
- A small portion of her heart truly wish someone would realize she has been abducted by some monsters even though she still doubt the possibility.
- Beth was pulled out of her train of thought when he re-entered the room once he was done putting his first aid box away and then handed her a new pair of T-shirt that literally smell like him. Once she was done putting it on, she turned around to look back at the man and found that he too was staring right back at her.
- She wondered what could be running through his mind. She prayed he hadn't help her with the sole intention of harming her. It won't be surprising if he did yet she hoped for him not to.
- Standing under the bright light, she noticed his features more clearly. Now clothed in black jogger pant and a tight shirt, his eyes were a deep emerald green just like hers. His hair was a short blond curls with thick ripped muscle just like all the men she has come in contact with for the last 16 hours now.
- "You will start to feel better as soon as those painkillers i gave you get to work, which would be anytime soon" He told her before glancing at his wrist watch.
- He let out a sigh and took a step forward when she said nothing to reply him. "You are lucky Asher didn't curve his name on your back instead" He stated with amusement but Beth couldn't summon enough courage to say anything to reply him still.
- The fact that he was making light of her situation was enough to tell her he is no different from all of them. He might just be worst regardless of his help tonight. Beth made a mental note to herself never to let her guards down around this people no matter what.
- Getting out of there and away from all of them is a must. She just need to seize the right moment and take a run for it.
- As though he could read her thought, he paused suddenly and move to seat beside her on the bed, causing her to flinch and recoil away from him in panic.
- He eyed her wryly for a moment before a sigh slipped out his mouth,"I know you're thinking I'm going to hurt you and heck, I can't blame you seeing how much you have been through since you got here"
- Betty reaction to his words was immediate confusion as she listen to him. "If I wanted to hurt you, I would have done so already when I found you out there and vulnerable but I can't say same for Asher. That's why you need to recover before anyone realized you are even here"
- "Because as long as you are here, you will get hurt either by me or someone else so yeah, it's good that you recover and get well"
- "And just in case you are wondering, my name is Alex and also the Beta of this pack" he said causally with a sigh and without thinking, she grab hold of his hands, as she peered up at his confused ones, "I'm grateful for what you have done for me but if you really want to help me then you will get me out of here, please"
- She saw something unrecognizable flashed through his eyes before he pulled his hands out of her grasp and then got back on his feet. Running his fingers through his dirty blond curls, he began to pace around before turning to face her.
- "You must really think me to be stupid don't you?" He paused and arched a brow at her. "What makes you think, I will betray my best friend, my people for a Lincoln like you, huh?"
- His once green orbs became dark and demonic in a matter of second as he took threatening steps towards her. Beth began to back away on top the bed until her back met the wall behind her and then paused.
- "Please, don't hurt me. I just want to go home" Tears cloud her vision before it began to trickle down her cheek with little sobs and whimper.
- Alex came to a stop before her as he stared down at the human girl trembling before him. Though in his demon form, he could still see how weak she really was. He blink once then twice before his pupil regain its original green color once more and he let out another sigh once he was sure his beast has been safely tucked away.
- "Are you sure, you are of a Lincoln bloodline? Because last time I checked, they were known for only bad things but here you are, whimpering like a helpless little girl"
- When Beth said nothing other than break down further and cry. Alex couldn't help but cuss under his breath at how pathetic she really was before turning away from her completely. Walking towards the open door, he paused and turned around to face her.
- "It will be morning soon so I suggest you go to sleep while you still can. You will need more than those pitiful tears of yours to save you tomorrow" he told her firmly before slipping out the door.
- Betty sniffed back more tears as she coiled herself into a ball against Alex's bed, very much unable to sleep. How could she when she could easily get strangled in her sleep or beaten to death even.
- Her life was suddenly that unfortunate as she lay dreading the dawn of another day. What could they be planning, she couldn't help but wonder with fresh tears threatening to spill.
- She could still remember when she was just a little girl. Life as she knew it then was all rainbow and sunshine until her mother past away from a strange illness. Three months later, she was told she would be going away to a boarding house, leaving her with no choice but to say good bye to her childhood.
- Life was totally different at the boarding house from what she was made to believe. Her room mate Ursula was sweet and comforting. Keeping her away from bullies but still the walls kept her from seeing beyond it no matter how hard she tried.
- Even though it was her temporarily prison,it was still better than her current hell. She was regularly fed, allowed to bath and he even made friends with other students and most of the punishment she was given only involved washing the dishes or toilet.
- Her tears were flowing again as she remembered how much she cursed and hated those very moment. The discipline nuns were nothing but mean and wicked but comparing all she went through to that very moment, she suddenly wished to be back within those same walls as it was a safe heaven as compared to the hell she has been thrown into.
- She wondered what her life would have been if she hadn't escape from school that night. She never would have fallen into the hands of these men in the street nor would she have been in that position she currently was.
- Thanks to those painkillers Alex gave her, Beth was later lured to sleep that night dreaming of the tall walls and green fields of saint Katherine girls school as her present predicament was momentarily lost to her.
