Chapter 8

• Ryan's POV
• Since I started courting Lauren, we have had a lot of fun and it was so easy being around her. We both haven't spoken about our chosen mates and I wasn't sure how I would feel taking about Lexi after everything she did to me and my pack.
• I was in my office going through some files together with Logan. Logan and I because close because he is my cousin and eventually when I became the Alpha I chose him as my Beta. Logan wasn't interested in looking for a mate after what happened between me and Lexi.
• "Do you think Lexi is going to come back?" I asked Logan and he looked up at me frowning.
• "No, only if she wants to die and she has no shame"
• " You know I feel very different with Lauren, she is very open minded, sweet and everything."
• " Everyone in the pack likes her, the kids are always with her and she has made things better in the hospital."
• " Even if I find out that we aren't fated pairs on the full moon, I am going to ask her to mate with me".
• Logan teased me for my statement and I threatened to throw him out. I checked my time and saw that it was lunch break for Lauren.
• "I am off to see Lauren, I will be back in an hour"
• " Take all the time you need"
• I took her lunch from the kitchen downstairs and headed to the hospital. I met Lily at the door and she told me Lauren was in her office. I got to her door and knocked waiting for her to answer.
• "Come in Ryan"
• Coming to visit Lauren could never be a surprise since she could sense me from a distance. I stepped inside I room and she gave me a smile , gesturing for me to sit while she cleared her table.
• "I almost forgot it was time for lunch, thank you" She sat beside me and open the box so she could eat.
• "You and Lily constantly forget that, I met her outside on her way home"
• " She needs to rest, she has been om this research for a cure for wolfsbane and silver".
• I watched Lauren eat and do the happy dance she always did when she ate something good. After eating she packed the plates back before focusing her attention on me. I stared at her while she licked her lips and I wondered how they would feel on mine.
• Before she could say anything, I moved close to her, our face so close I could feel her breath on my lips.
• "Can I kiss you?" I asked her hoping she says yes.
• " Yes"
• "I have always wanted to do this" I brushed my lips lightly against hers at first before I pulled back. She had her eyes closed and I slid my fingers into her hair, I tugged her closer closing the distance between our lips again and she moaned.
• My tongue flicked out to lick her lips and she gasped giving me the perfect opportunity to taste her. My tongue wrapped around hers and I sucked on her tongue.
• After a while I pulled back and I watched her open her eyes. For a moment she had golden eyes untill she blinked and they reverted back to its original color.
• "I think your lunch break is over" I told her as we both stared at each other.
• "And that means you have to go"
• Lauren decided to follow me outside the hospital even after I told her to stay. Before we parted ways we shared a quick kiss and I watched her go back inside before I headed back to the house.
• "Oh, oh, he is grinning so wide almost like a chesire cat, tell me what happened" Logan said the moment I stepped into the office.
• "Nope" I opened my laptop to go through my emails while Logan kept bugging me to tell him what happened.
• "I know, she let you kiss her, Lauren and Ryan sitting on the tree k i s s i n g "
• " You know Grace needs someone to play with her downstairs" I told him and he shut up immediately.
• "Don't laugh at me, your sister is the devil's first child, how can she be sweet and evil at once. She almost removed my eyes last time all in the name of makeup"
• When my parents died along with Logan's parents, we had to take control of the pack under such a short time while nana took care of Lily and Grace. Lexi who was my mate then wasn't helpful which made things worst for the pack. Everytime I was grateful I had a great family and I hoped Lauren would like to become one of us.
• The full moon was in two days so I decided to talk to Lauren when she finished work. I went to the hospital so we could walk back to the house together.
• "The full moon is in two days, we could do it on that day or wait for the next one which is in a month"
• " Ryan" she stopped walking so she could face me." Let's do it in two days and find out our fate"
• " I want to you to be my mate even if we are not fated mate, even if fate has another fucked up reason for all of these" I pulled her into my arms hugging her tight.
• "Me too, me too"
• We went back to the house to inform Gloria about our decision and for the preparation to be made.
• The next day which was a day before the full moon got me stressed out. Every full moon, the pack gathered for a run and then a picnic around a fire, It created closer ties with everyone. Lauren and I decided to do the ritual after the run to prevent anything from going wrong.
• "I know you are nervous" Gloria said as I paced round her room while she knitted.
• "Nervous is an understatement, what if we are not fated mates and she decides that she wants to find her fated mate"
• " Have fate in the yourselves"
