Chapter 1

• "Happy birthday Lauren" My sister Karina said as I came down the stairs,she hugged me and then left to see her friend Jay who was the Alpha's son. I looked around for my parents and as usual I didn't find them ,only a birthday cake and a note wishing me happy birthday.
• I lit the candle and made a wish before I blew it out and served my self a piece of the cake. My dad was the Alpha's right hand as he was a beta and my mom was a pack doctor so they hardly spent time at home and when they did it was to talk to my sister. My sister Karina was the eldest and she was spoilt rotten due to my parents pampering her and I the younger child was delegated to the background.
• My parents believed that Karina was Jay's mate but I doubted it as they were both 23 years old without any mate pull. Karina had been trained to be the Alpha's Luna by my parents the moment she became Jay's friend.
• I finished my slice of cake and headed to my work place which was the pack hospital. Right after I finished high school,I enrolled in the pack's course for medicine and I graduated top of my class. My parents were a little proud of me as they believed that I was being useful. I wished I would find a mate that would treat me well and make me feel loved.
• "Happy birthday, swiftie" I turned back to look at Blake who was the only one to ever call me that. The nickname came to be after he watched me run one night and he declared I was the fastest wolf he had ever seen. Blake was Jay's beta to be and they had been friends since they were kids.
• "Thank you,slow pole" I laughed as I accepted the package he stretched out to me and looked inside.
• "Hey" He bumped my shoulder and began to walk with me." I am not slow ,you are just so fast and I just got you some books,I know it isn't much"
• "It is more than enough,I have wanted these books for a while now,thank you"
• "Aren't you supposed to be at home or somewhere enjoying your birthday " He asked as we reached the hospital.
• "Nope,my mom put me on duty today,see you later" I waved him goodbye and entered the hospital heading straight for my mom's office.
• "Did you see your cake?" My mom asked me.
• "Yes,thank you "
• "You can have a party later but your sister has something big coming up together and we can't let your birthday delay it"
• My mom's words hurt as I have always had to sacrifice everything for my sister despite the fact that I was younger ,and I couldn't even have my birthday to myself. I blinked fast to avoid tears and asked her what I would be doing for the day.
• "We have a visitor from a pack ,she got sick on her way home and had to come here. Just go there and watch over her , page me if she wakes up and needs anything"
• I left the office and headed to the first floor. The first floor was for the top ranking people so she had to be important if she was put here. I knocked on the door and when I didn't receive an answer,I went in and I saw that she was still asleep. I sat on a chair opposite her and began to read one of the books I had with me, after a while I felt eyes on me and I looked up to see the patient awake.
• "Hi, do you need anything?" I asked her standing up to check her vitals.
• "Oh, I am good, what is your name?"
• "Lauren"
• "That's a good name,tell me, what is the title of your book?"
• "The creation of the moon, it is a book about the different shifters creater by the moon goddess"
• "What have you learnt, my dear?"
• "A lot on different shifters and how the werewolves were the moon goddess first creation and also about the existence of the alpha of all Alphas"
• "The Alpha of all Alphas hmm"
• "Yes, according to this book the Alpha of all Alphas is the most powerful werewolves,he is the only one that can successfully shift into a lycan , just imagine how extremely powerful he would be and oh he has to come from a family of royal pure breeds. I have never met a royal pure breed before,do you know what they would look like. Oh my God,I am sorry I went on a rant"
• "No,it is totally fine I learnt a lot from you and yes I have met a royal pure breed "
• "What do they look like ?"
• "Come closer,my dear"
• I moved my chair closer to her bed and I watched her eyes change from its original color to pure white. For a while I was dumbstruck and couldn't say a word until I heard her talk.
• "Did I break you?" She asked laughing as her eyes reverted back to its original color.
• "That was magnificent and beautiful,you had like dark iris and white pupils,you can switch back so fast like a light switch"
• She was about to reply me when my mom came in and I had to move away. My mom did some tests on her and asked if she would like to switch doctors so I would leave and some else who stay. I was happy when she said she was fine with me.
• "What is your name?" I asked her after my mom left and I took my sit again.
• "Gloria"
• Gloria and I spoke a lot until my mom came to inform me that we had to go home for my sister's surprise.
• "This is my best birthday ever " I told Gloria as I packed my things so I could leave.
• "Today is your birthday" She exclaimed,"I have to give you a gift but I don't have anything here"
• "You spoke with me today and I learnt alot that's enough for me,I better go can't keep my mom waiting "
• "See you tomorrow, Lauren "
• "You too"
• I left the room and hurried downstairs to meet my mom and we both headed back home together. When I got home I had to set the table as my parents informed me about a big announcement for my sister. I couldn't think about what it would possibly be because my sister never did anything big.
• I looked up just in time to see my sister enter the house with Jay and the word that came out of his mouth made me drop the spoon.
• "Mate" Jay growled and everyone gasped.
• Of course,I could feel the connection between us and I smiled as I felt happy about meeting my mate. Jay and I had never been close but now that we were mates we could rectify that. My wolf growled inside of me as I watched my sister tighten her hold on his arm.
• "I am sorry,lee but Jay and I are getting married" My sister said while smiling up at him.
