Chapter 25 Chapter Twenty-five
- Dr Kate Blackwell Anderson was Colin's mother whom he hadn't seen for several months. She was a neurosurgeon at Chicago, where she was famous for being one of the best surgeons in practice. With her striking blue eyes and perfectly sculptured chiseled features, it was clear where Colin, her only child, had inherited all his beauty from. She was a very principled and disciplined woman and was as intimidating as she was alluring. This was why Colin froze when, two weeks later, Angela's voice came through the intercom.
- "Sir, your mother is on line one. She said she needs to speak with you, RIGHT NOW." Angela emphasized, remembering the chilly and authoritative tone with which the billionaire's mother had stressed the need to speak with her son unfailingly.
- Colin had stared at the blinking light, his heart racing. He had been avoiding her calls for days now, because he couldn't even bear to talk to her, lest she, with her ever so sharp discerning senses, noticed that something was amiss and started asking questions. Now his luck had run out, and he couldn't run away anymore. She had gotten his office contact address and he silently cursed whoever gave it to her. He wondered why she was calling, and hoped it wasn't because she's heard about the scandal, even though he thought that a very unlikely occurrence. His mother was too busy being the perfect surgeon to indulge in rumor and gossips.
