Chapter 45 When The Father Isn't At Home

• When I heard Jayden's door open, I thought he was going to come over to my room, but he didn't. He strode past my room, and a few minutes later, I heard the start of a car.
• Shocked, I rose from the bed and rushed to the window, to look out. Sure as hell, Jayden was leaving the compound. I left the window and raced out of my room, attempting to catch him before he left, but I was late.
• Before I could make it downstairs, he had already left.
