• Chrys stayed in her room throughout the night and in the morning. I left her room after taking the empty plate of soup back to the kitchen, but not before teasing the hell out of my stepmom, who was blushing like a bride on her wedding day.
• “Good morning!” The new maid smiled shyly at me when I stepped into the dining, to have breakfast. Chrys was sleeping in her room when I went to check on her, so I knew she wouldn't be down. At least not for now.
