Chapter 44

• We mingle around for a bit, chatting with different people. A few come up to me, and Harvey and I don't get much time to ourselves. Just then, an elderly woman approaches us after we finish talking to Olivia and Dave. She's a short woman with rectangular glasses on her nose and a mole on her upper lip. Her hair is as white as snow and her skin is wrinkled from age, but she's still dressed nicely. Surprisingly, she still moves around without any difficulty as she stops in front of us and looks me up and down.
• "Ah, Luna. I heard about our Alpha being mated to a half-human wolf, but I didn't believe it," she says with a smile.
• "Well, believe it," I reply, chuckling.
