Chapter 60 Escaping Reality

- The night unfolded slowly and endlessly. The need to talk to Cecília hovered over me, but fear of the unknown kept me paralyzed. As the day broke, I decided I needed to confront the situation head-on, but I had no idea how I would do that when Cecília seemed so inflexible. I ended up leaving my bedroom door slightly ajar, hoping that Cecília would feel comfortable enough to leave her refuge and, perhaps, seek me out for a conversation.
- I waited, tense, for any sign from her room, hoping that finally, we could talk, and I could convince her of the insignificance of the past to our relationship. I couldn't be considered guilty of something I had no fault in. There was no term about fidelity in our previous agreement. Of course, everything had changed yesterday, after our moments together. However, the silence persisted for hours.
