My marriage to Liam had been a whirlwind of events, so fast that I could barely process what had unfolded. The ring on my ring finger was a constant reminder of the radical change in my life. I tried in every way to avoid crossing paths with Liam as much as possible, and days had passed since I last saw him.
Marta became our communication channel. Anything Liam needed to say to me went through his secretary. I had a genuine appreciation for Marta, and I found this arrangement more convenient for both of us, given that our personal communication wasn't the best.
