I felt anxious, awaiting Cecilia's return. The delay was starting to bother me, and I wondered if I should go look for her in the dressing room. Others' opinions didn't affect me; after all, Cecilia is my wife, and it would be perfectly natural for me to be concerned about her after all the confusion caused by the company's Human Resources manager.
After a few more minutes, I completely lost patience and went in search of Cecilia. Opening the door to my office, I found her standing next to Marta's desk, and an unexpected increase in my pulse made me uneasy. This only heightened my irritation. I shouldn't be affected by something as trivial as seeing Cecilia standing like a statue in the middle of my secretary's office. I ended up using a brusque tone when calling her to come into my office.
