- Zara’s pov
- The heavy wooden door of my father's study slammed shut behind me and the echo reverberated through the silent hallway. My effort to reason with him and convince had been a failure. He was immovable, his mind set on me fulfilling his supposed duty for me or war and his heart closed to any possibility of peace with Kane and the Moonshadow pack. A feeling of defeat came over me, leaving me feeling drained and sad.
- I needed to escape the suffocating atmosphere of the pack house, to find some space to breathe and think.
