Chapter 31

  • Chelsey's view.
  • Our wolves are playingfully bouncing back toward the house. I think we both needed this, just a minute alone to feel free and unburdened before we go back to reality. As we run between the trees, his wolf keeps biting my ankles, making me scream. I get out of sight by ducking down and hiding in the bushes. Cain's wolf shows up, looking around nervously, and I feel bad because he thinks he's lost me. I jump out of the bush and tackle him to the ground, which surprises him, and he clamps his teeth around my neck and growls playfully. We get back after half an hour, but we end up at the pack house instead of the mansion. I asked Cain if we could stop by and talk on the way. He agreed right away, and he stays close to me all the time. When I walked up to the puppies playing outside, they lunged at my wolf, wrapped themselves around her legs, and hung from her neck. It didn't matter, because she loves these puppies. Cecelia, a little girl, tried to get on my back. My wolf turned her head around and used her snout to lift Cecelia onto our back. Cecelia put her front to my back and wrapped her arms around my neck to hold on while laughing into my fur.
