• Cain's perspective
• I can tell she's asleep because she's breathing softly. Her perfect little body fits snugly on mine, and I keep her warm in my arms. She'll be sleeping for hours now. I felt the same way after my first shift, let alone how much her heat took over tonight. I hope she doesn't have any regrets; I don't sense any negative energy from her, which is a good sign. I can't believe how beautiful she is; how anyone could let her go is beyond me. Although she'd always chosen me in the end, I'd made certain of it. No one will have my; she is already everything to me. I'll put my life in her hands and fight until the end to protect this delicate angel. I pull one side of the duvet over us, and her wolf lets out a small, almost inaudible howl in her dreams, which makes me smile.
• I'll give you that, little wolf, you're a fighter. My neck is pulsing from her bite. Definitely a fighter. I can't wait to see what you grow into, Luna.
