Chapter 8 Police Station

  • Julia arrived at the station, looked around the place looking for her brother, “Are you Miss Julia?” A Detective came over and asked as Julia nodded.
  • “Yes. Where is my brother and what happened?” She asked as the detective pointed out where her brother is. She walked over but the 15 years old boy who didn’t even bother looking at her. She sat down next to him and glanced at him lightly, “What kind of trouble did he cause this time around?” She asked the detective who was in charge.
  • “He beat up a group of girl.” The detective said and pointed to the girl that were by the side. Julia glanced at them and nodded without a change in her expression.
  • “So what did the girl do? My brother can be a troublemaker but he never beats someone without reason, and he won’t beat girl if they didn’t beat him first.” She defended her brother immediately before she could even hear the full story of what happened.
  • “We don’t know yet. There is no CCTV there, so we are only working on the girl’s statement.”
  • “What about my brother’s statement?” She asked as the Detective who sighed.
  • “Since he came, he has refused to say a word.”
  • “OK. How much is their treatment? This is my card, let me know. If they are going to sue, they should sue me and not him.” She said as she handed over her business card to the detective.
  • “Aren’t you going to wait until her guardian is here?” The detective asked but Julia shook her head and stood up.
  • “No. They should meet me when her parents come. I am really busy now and I don’t have time.” She said as she turned to her brother and took his hand, “Let’s go.”
  • Just as they were about to leave the station, the girl yelled loudly and and ran to their front to stop them, “Where do you think you are going to?!” Julia looked at the young girl that stopped in front of her
  • “Why should I tell you were I am going to? Do I owe you?”
  • “Your brother beat me up. So he should pay for it. People like him end up beating up their girlfriends and wife.” The girl retorted as she stood on her toe to reach Julia’s height while glaring at her coldly.
  • “Please don’t stand on your toe. You smell of smoke. Does the detective know that you smoke?” She asked the young girl who stepped down and stood properly, “Don’t worry, my brother won’t be an abusive boyfriend or husband. Because he might be single his whole life.” She made to walk past her but she blocked her way again.
  • “I am very busy right now and I am not in it to play with you guys. If you parents and guardians come, you can contact me.” She pushed her out of the way, and made to leave again but Ethan Blackwood suddenly walked into the station with his secretary.
  • Julia who was about to leave stopped to watch and find out why he is suddenly here but then she heard one of the girls calling him uncle, “Uncle?” She mumbled and looked at the girls properly. It was the one that directly confronted her before.
  • “Aren’t we leaving?” Michael Knight her younger brother who hardly spoke to her suddenly asked.
  • “Let us wait a bit, I suddenly saw an enemy.” She stood and watched as the girl narrated what happened to Ethan and the Detective also narrated
  • “Who did it?” Ethan’s eyes turned cold as he asked. Who would actually dare to beat his niece.
  • “He is over there.” The Detective pointed as Julia and Michael that stood by the door.
  • “President Julia?” Nathan sighed heavily as he would already guess what is going to happen. Why does fate always find a way to bring these two together.
  • “Hi” Julia waved and returned with her brother.
  • “Could you care to explain, Why a man is beating a girl up?” Ethan glanced at her brother then at her and asked.
  • “I don’t know. But there must have been a reason right? My brother doesn’t beat people up for no reason.” Julia defended her brother with a smile.
  • “Just pay them let’s leave. I am tired.” Michael whispered to her as Julia’s eyes twitched.
  • “It is not that easy. He is someone I have to defeat, So just hold on for a bit, hide behind me and don’t move.” She whispered to him and turned again to face Ethan Blackwood.
  • “Whatever reason it is, It is unethical for a boy to beat a girl.”
  • “Maybe because she smokes, that is why my brother doesn’t consider her a girl. Why don’t you tell your niece to stop lying and tell you the whole truth about everything.” She glanced at the girl lightly and at Ethan, “I am very busy and I don’t have as much free time as you.”
  • “How about you guys come to a settlement?”
  • “NO! That is never going to happen. Now that I see that you are her guardian, I so much understand why she has such an attitude. Like uncle like niece.” She jabbed at him.
  • “I am not interested in settling with you too. So let us meet in court.”
  • “We are going to meet there sooner or later.” Julia agreed instantly.
  • Nathan stood aside and glanced at the both of them. This might make it the 6th time they are meeting in court just this year alone, “I should have just gone home with Isabella instead of staying here” He yawned and continued waiting.
  • “Then that will be it. Since you’ve decided to sue, there is nothing I can do.” The detective nodded.
  • But just as he was about to officially file the case, A girl walked in with her parents, and then walked over to them, “Hello, Is their anyway we can help you?” The detective asked.
  • “My daughter told me that she was bullied and someone saved her. We are not sure but she said that the police came, that is why we are here.” The mother explained as the detective nodded.
  • “Do you know the person that bullied you?” The detective turned to the young girl and asked, but the young girl timidly hid behind her mother and didn’t say anything.
  • “Sweetheart, Go on. Mom is here to support you.” The mother patted her daughter’s head,
  • Still hiding behind her mother she pointed at Ethan’s niece, Starlight, “It is her and her group. They were beating me up and wanted to take my money from me. But then he came, he told them to stop but they started fighting him, then the police came.” The young girl narrated everything that happened in just a few words.
  • Ethan glanced at his niece and then at the victim, “Are you sure of what you are saying?”
  • “Do you think my daughter will lie because of something like this? The scars on her face and body is enough to say what happened. I know you are defending her but I am here to make sure that she pays for what she did to my daughter.” The woman took a swipe at them.
  • “You see, I told you my brother doesn’t beat up someone for no reason. And he didn’t even beat them up, they started fighting him and he was defending himself.” Julia smiled boldly as she mocked them.
  • “Thank you so much. If not for your brother, my daughter would have been beaten up. Where is your brother? I want to thank him personally.” The woman held Julia’s hand.
  • “My brother is kind of shy, but it is what anybody in their right senses will do in that situation.” Julia patted her hand, as she felt Michael tug at her clothes again.
  • “Detective, Since everything is confirmed. I can leave right?” She asked the Detective.
  • “Yes.”
