Chapter 2 Drunk
- “Lia, what are you doing here?” Austin stood up immediately and asked Julia who just crossed her hands and was staring at him.
- “Janice, your dad came to my company today and asked me to give you a position in my company, does he know what you are doing, or he knows but he still shamelessly came to talk to me about how families should be?” Julia still crossed her arms.
- “Lia,” Austin walked up to her and tried to hold her hand, but Julia moved aside dodging his action with a look of disgust in her face, “Explain, and I hope it is worth it, if not our engagement is canceled” She warned him fiercely.
- Before Austin could start with his words, Janice cut him off, “There is nothing there to explain, as you can already see Austin is not in love with you. The person he loves is me, the earlier you know the better.” Janice looked at her provocatively, waiting for her reaction.
- “That is OK. Is not like I am going to stop you guys from fighting for your love. Austin, I can see that you have no excuse, so I will leave you guys. Just do not forget to enter the bedroom. Someone else might come in.” With her chin held high and no change in her expression, she walked out of the place leaving the adulterers confused by her reaction.
- Leaving the villa, she stood there for a long time without leaving, “I can’t believe that thing actually cheated on me” She picked up her phone and sent a message to the group chat.
- ¬¬ “Who wants to go for a drink tonight?” Without waiting for a reply, she tucked her phone back into her bag as the taxi that she called finally came.
- She got into the back seat as the man drove off to her destination, leaning at the back she closed her eyes, “Miss, are you OK?” The taxi driver decided to ask after seeing that she is not moving or saying anything at all.
- “I am not OK at all. My fiance cheated on me with my cousin.”
- “Wow, that is crazy. I am so sorry; you must have felt betrayed.”
- “Well, I am not close with the cousin, but I did not expect my fiance to do this. Our wedding is in a week time, I guess I must cancel everything… Most importantly, I cannot believe I am telling a stranger my sob story.” She rubbed her face annoyed by the whole thing.
- “Everything is for a reason, I’m sure you would look back on this day and smile because you will be in a better position by then” The said trying to cheer her up.
- “You are right,” Julia took out her make up kit to fix her make up, “I cannot believe I am sad because of that scumbag”
- “I am glad that you are feeling better now. We have arrived”
- “Oh, thank you.” She took out cash from her bag and paid him before getting out.
- “Miss, this is more than what you are supposed to pay” The driver tried to stop her, but Julia already walked away while waving her hand carelessly to indicate that she knew.
- She walked into the club, but her dressing seemed out of place. Too business like for a club, but the servers and everyone working there was already used to her coming like that, “Miss Julia, I didn’t expect you to show up today.” The manager walked up to her to lead her to her private.
- “It just happened, and I will not be going to the private room, I will stay here at the counter. Did you change your mixologist?” She moved to the counter and sat on the long stool that was kept there.
- “The mixologist is someone we worked hard to bring because of his amazing ability. I am sure you will like him.” He assured her and went on to have a few words with the mixologist, before leaving.
- “CEO Julia Knight,” The mixologist called her after the manager left, and passed a glass of drink to her.
- “You know me?” Julia looked up at him and took the glass taking a sip from it.
- “Yes, you are the role model of so many youths, and is my first day working here. I am glad to be able to serve you. By the way, my name is Augustine.” He spoke as he showed off his skills.
- “You guys even have similar names.” She mumbled with the glass close to her lips.
- “What did you say?”
- “I appreciate your care, but I just need the drinks and not your words. Mix the strongest for me without any question.” She warned him softly and looked down at the glass twirling it slowly.
- The rest of the drinking session continued in silence, except for the blaring music from the bar no one said a word. As the bartender could only watch her drink one glass after another as she still requested more.
- Julia suddenly hit the glass cup strongly on the table, and looked up fiercely at the Augustine, “Do you know one thing about humans, they are very stupid and ungrateful. While her father was busy begging me to give her a place in my company, she was cheating with my fiance, and she does not even care!”
- Augustine watched her blabbering on without interrupting her, he only rang the bell and called the manager over, “Something terrible must have happened for her to get drunk, she doesn’t get drunk easily” The manager took out his phone, “I will call her secretary, so please look after her and make sure she doesn’t cause any trouble.”
- “All men are scum; I didn’t believe it before but now I do.” She sighed heavily and stood, “I should start going, I have an important contract to sign tomorrow.” She stumbled greatly as soon as she stood, but was able to stop herself as she held unto something, “Why is everything in twos?”
- “Miss Julia, don’t you think is time for you to let go of me?” A magnetic voice came from her side, a voice that Julia loathed so much that she would even remember it in her dream.
- She moved away from him disgusted, “Why would you stand in my way?” She glared at him and cleaned off her hand staggeringly, and then turned to Augustine, “He is the scum of all scums.”
- “Miss Julia mind your words.” The man warned her coldly.
- “Mind my words? why should I mind my words. I am just saying the truth, why are you so triggered?”
- “Tomorrow I’m definitely going to defeat you and win the rights to that tower, Mr. Ethan Blackwood.” She poked his chest as she spoke.
- “I want to see you try.” Ethan held her way and pushed her out of the way in a way that is not gentlemanly, fortunately Augustine was behind to catch her before she fell.
- Julia staggeringly stood on her feet and then glared at Ethan who was already walking away, without a word she ran after him and kicked him shard from behind. Just as Ethan turned at the pain, Julia was already falling towards him and with that she threw up on him, causing those around to gasp.
- Ethan, who is a clean addict, stood there fixated and horrified by what just happened, “What the hell do you think…” Before he could finish his words, Julia leaned on him unconscious.
