Chapter 4 Regrets

• The next morning, Julia opened her eyes and looked at the glowing sun, but she didn’t want to wake up at all, “You better wake up unless you want to embarrass yourself in front of President Ethan again today.” Isabella’s annoyed voice came from the corner of the room.
• Julia held her forehead as she sat up, “Seems like I drank too much last night, my head is aching badly.”
• “I prepared a hangover soup for you. Next time don’t drink too much, I thought you had dinner with Mr. Austin yesterday so why did I meet you in such a mess?” Isabella passed her the bowl of soup and went on to open the curtains, “There is a trending news about you today.” She announced as Julia drank the whole soup and returned the plate to Isabella.
• “What is the news about? I’ve been trying so hard to keep my plate clean so at least no one will compare me to that jackass.” She stood up from the bed and moved to the massage chair in the room.
• “It is the girl you fired yesterday, she joined your hate train and is part of the people that are saying that President Ethan is better than you, kinder than you and more successful than you. At this stage, your reputation is not getting any better”
• “I fired someone yesterday, why don’t I know anything about it?” She looked over at Isabella who was already used to it and didn’t bother to start explaining anything.
• Just as they were talking and going through the schedule for the day, Isabella received a call, “Excuse me” She turned around to pick it up while Julia stood up and made her way to the bathroom.
• After talking to the person on phone, Isabella’s face turned cold, “Miss, I think you should wash up fast, there is an emergency!” She announced to Julia and went on to pick up her dress for today.
• Soon, Julia was ready but was still confused on why she what the emergency is, “What’s the matter?” She asked Isabella as they made their way to the car where the driver was already waiting for them.
• “Did something happen last night that you have not told me about?” Isabella asked her in return.
• “I broke my engagement with Austin” She replied confused on what it has to do with the so-called emergency.
• “OK. I get it now; Austin is at the company waiting for you and it is not good.” The driver greeted them both after they got into the car and drove off immediately.
• Isabella looked through her phone when she came out across a piece of news that was sitting nicely on the headlines of today, she couldn’t help but read it loud, “The youths role model, CEO Julia Knight’s fiance Mr. Austin has announced that he has broken their engagement to each other and the wedding that is supposed to hold in a month time has also been cancelled.” Isabella read it out loud as Julia snatched the phone from her to look at it.
• “Heh…” She chuckled slightly, “That piece of shit really does know how to get on my nerves for no reason. He actually dared to let the reporters know without asking me.”
• The car stopped in front of the company, as she got down without even waiting for Isabella. The air around her was so cold that no one even dared to get closer to her, even the employees kept quiet because it feels like even their greetings will get them fired.
• She made her way to the office and sitting there was Austin with another man, “Why are you here so early? I made myself clear last night and you made yourself clear through the media this morning.” She walked to the seat and sat down looking at Austin without any trace of emotions in her face.
• “You are always like this, even after our break up you still don’t feel anything. Dating you was as if I was dating a dead person without emotions!” Austin shook his head, “Janice is so much better than you, she cares so much about me and is ready to be a traditional wife and a stay-at-home mom just for me, and you? Everything is about your work” Austin let out his grievances and displeasure throughout their relationship.
• Julia didn’t say anything and just chuckled, “The life that you are living right now is thanks to me and my money, but you suddenly feel like you are better than me. Let me remind you, your inferiority complex is etched into your mind and soul, you can’t get rid of it even if you want to.” She crossed her legs, “ I don’t have all the time in the world to listen to your low self, just tell me the reason why you are here and why did you bring our tech manager with you?” Julia glanced at the man who sat there down there without saying anything.
• "You seem to have forgotten that I am the one that introduced him to you. And he agreed to work with your company because we were dating, so now we are not dating, he is quitting and will work for my family company.” Austin broke the news to her leaving Julia petrified in the spot.
• “Don’t you know how to differentiate business from personal problems?” She raised her brows lightly, and then turned to “Mr. Lee are you really going to go with him? We gave you several benefits and my company and me has never treated you wrongly before. Why would follow him?!” She turned to the manager hoping that he would at least talk reasonably.
• “I’m sorry but my friend here is Austin, is only normal I help my friend. And he is giving me an equal right which you didn’t give me” Mr. Lee showed his Stance.
• “Do you know how important that you are to my company, you can’t just leave without giving us a clue beforehand. What about the unfinished products?”
• “Lia, there is no need begging. My friend has already made his decisions so there is nothing that is going to change his mind. The media already knows about this, so good luck trying to fix your company that is in shambles.” Austin stood up with Mr. Lee, “My new wedding invitation will be coming soon, I hope you attend but I’m sure that you ill be too busy trying to save your company to attend.” Austin said his goodbye and walked out of the office; Isabella came in as soon as he left.
• “I didn’t realize that he was such a scumbag, Mr. Lee is leaving has already been published, the shareholders called for an emergency meeting and you have you go to the bidding of the town square land.” Isabella announced the next course of actions.
• “No, first of all, Cancel every form of cooperation with have with Newton’s company, and withdraw every investment.” Julia instantly ordered; Newton’s company is Austin’s family company.
• “But there will be so much lost on our side” Isabella reminds her before she makes any reckless decision,
• "That's what he thought, but theirs will be greater than mine. After all I am their major investor and partner. At least they will spend a lot of time trying to pull funds in. As for me, I always find a solution to my problem.
• “Now let’s go to those shareholders meeting and see what those old hags have to say.”
