Chapter 6 Failure And Betrayal

  • Isabella shook her head refusing to say anything, "I don't think that's something you want to know now"
  • "Is it that bad?"
  • "Yes, After the bidding we will talk about it" Isabella promised as they made their way into the large conference room. Several other CEO s were there, and since the bidding hasn't started officially, they were socializing and talking about cooperation.
  • "I hate this" Julia mumbled as she looked around the crowd while Isabella found her seat with her name tag on it. After she settled down and Isabella placed the file in front of her.
  • "Control your emotions, don't listen to any useless talk about your gender and please don't lose your temper here. We cannot afford to lose because we've worked so hard for this." Isabella reminded her constantly.
  • "Yes. Why are you so consistent in your nagging." She rolled her eyes as Isabella sighed and made her way to the back of the conference room, where seats were prepared for all assistants or secretaries.
  • Julia sat down bored for a while, and suddenly turned to greet her right neighbor, "Hi, you must be..." When she saw who it was her lips curled up in disgust as she put her hands away and didn't even bother to continue with the greeting.
  • Ethan also glanced at her coldly and continued talking to the person who was sitting on his right, "I can't believe that I'm cursed with the bad luck to sit with this guy. Didn't they have a better place to put my name tag?!" She mumbled furiously and didn't bother to look at the person at her left hand side.
  • "Even with the fact that we just broke up, we keep seeing each other frequently these days." A voice spoke from her left and Julia already knew who it was.
  • "Surprisingly." She replied without bothering to look at him.
  • "I can't believe that you shamelessly came here when you also know that I'm going to be here. Aren't you afraid of what people might say about us? Or even to you?" Austin said again as this time Julia chuckled lightly.
  • "If I was afraid of that, then my company would be on the same level as yours. So please just keep your mouth shut and don't talk to me, I'm not interested in it anyways." She glared at him annoyed and fortunately at that time, The bidding was officially opened, so Austin couldn't say anything, but Julia couldn't help but grumble, annoyed by the whole thing.
  • It was as if the universe was especially against her today.
  • "We welcome you all to the bidding ceremony of the Central Tower, this tower was owned by the state, but we will be selling it to whoever their plan for the tower has a great future for not only the state, but also for the people and the country." The man officially opened the bidding with his speech as everyone around clapped happily.
  • “There were several proposals, with the instinct of professionals. But I only selected three which impressed me greatly, one is from Blackwood's multinational cooperation, The second is from Knight's Enterprise, and the third is from, Newton company. The three of them impressed me, so every other company that joined in this bidding proposal, I wish you better luck next time.
  • The representatives and the CEO s of the shortlisted companies should please meet me in my office, for the selection." After speaking, he announced the end of the bidding proposal and left the conference.
  • Everyone stood up congratulating them, while the other two accepted it with thanks, Julia sat down without looking at anyone and her eyes looking into space at no one in particular, her hands keeps shivering as she clasped them together to stop but it just increased, Ethan glanced at her slightly but didn't say a word and walked away with his secretary.
  • "You thought you were the only smart person, unfortunately for you my company also shortlisted. And I will make sure that I get it." Austin laughed scornfully at him as Julia suddenly got up and snatched the proposal that he held in his hand.
  • "What the hell do you think that you are doing?" Austin yelled and tried to snatch it back, but Isabella came just at the right time and blocked.
  • The more Julia looked at Austin's proposal, the more she glanced at him scornfully, "No wonder you were even invited in the first place. Can't you do anything yourself without trying to rip me off? This is the first proposal that i wrote, but couldn't use it. But instead of writing one yourself, you decided to take something that I threw into the trash. You are even trash yourself, so I'm not surprised." She waved the proposal to his face as she scoffed at him full of disgust.
  • Austin didn't care and took it from her, "I took it? Do you have any evidence to prove that i took it?" Austin glared at her coldly and walked out.
  • "THAT PIECE OF SHIT!!!" Julia cussed out loudly.
  • "Boss." Isabella instantly covered her mouth and stopped her from saying more, "People are watching, we will deal with it later." Bella assured and reminded her.
  • "Let's go. I cannot let that piece of shit get it. In fact both of them cannot get it when I'm here, even if i have to fight with the last drop of my blood.
  • But the information she arrived at left her in another round of shock.
  • "What did you just say?!" She asked the man in charge of the bidding after she has gone over to discuss the next step, leaving the four of them in one room.
  • "Your proposal and Mr. Austin's proposal are similar, but Mr. Blackwood's proposal is totally different. He is the mind and the soul of this project. I already asked him to choose someone to work with, between you and Mr. Austin and he chose Mr. Austin without hesitation.
  • "OK." Julia kept all her cuss words inside of her and nodded. She rubbed her palms together and looked at Ethan and Austin who sat quietly.
  • "Congratulations to you." She smiled brightly at them and turned to the man.
  • "I guess, this is where I should leave." She bit her lips slightly and turned to Isabella who instantly walked up to her and covered her figure.
  • Julia made to leave accepting her defeat but on second thought she turned to Blackwood, "Putting our personal enmity and hatred aside why did you choose him and not me?"
  • "Because I don't work with people that plagiarize someone else work"
