Chapter 8 Too Insulting
- "Shut up!" Arthur looked at Adrian coldly. He couldn't believe how his brother was acting.
- Adrian's lips twitched. He said alarmingly, "Bro, are you angry at me?"
- Arthur sneered.
- Adrian hung his head and mumbled, "I'm just doing this for your good, bro. You haven't even had a girlfriend all these years. It's not strange for people to make such assumptions."
- Adrian scratched his nose when he saw Arthur look at him coldly. "Luna saved Grandpa. We must thank her properly."
- Arthur nodded. He thought of what Luna had said in the department store. He said in a low voice, "Prepare a cheque."
- "Bro, can you thank her in a better way?" Adrian stared at his brother's cold face and made a suggestion. "Why don't we have a meal with her?"
- "Up to you." Arthur didn't want to be too entangled with Luna. He didn't have a good impression of the woman.
- "I'm not free. I have many advertisements to shoot recently, and shooting for my movie is about to start."
- "Then give her a cheque!" Arthur said coldly before walking out of the room.
- His time was valuable. He couldn't waste it on a woman who was crazy about money!
- …
- After leaving Adrian's house, Luna immediately took a hot shower.
- When she came out of the bathroom in pajamas, Paxton and Daxton were already lying on the bed and waiting for her.
- When she came out, Daxton immediately said, "Mommy, I'm hungry."
- "Didn't you already have dinner? Why are you hungry again?"
- She stroked Daxton's head and turned to ask Paxton, "Pax, are you hungry? Mommy will make you a snack."
- "Okay."
- Paxton was different from Daxton, who was more expressive.
- He liked it when his mom stroked his hair and spoke to him gently.
- "I'll make a late-night meal. Who wants to go to our neighbor's house and ask if they want to come for a meal? They helped us just now, so we must thank them."
- After that, Daxton raised his hand and said, "Me! Me! Me! I want to go, Mommy!"
- "Alright. Be careful!"
- "Don't worry, Mommy. It's only a few steps away. I know the way."
- After that, Daxton wore his slippers and ran out with his feet pattering.
- After Daxton left, Paxton turned to look at Luna. "Let me help you, Mommy."
- She stroked Paxton's head and shook her head. "It's alright. I can do it myself."
- "Okay, Mommy. I'm going to play on the computer."
- Luna couldn't help but shake her head when she saw Paxton slip out of bed and run to the computer.
- Paxton looked at the stock market proficiently and observed the latest market trends.
- "Pax, just have fun with the stock market. Don't lose your head." Luna knew her elder son liked to speculate in the stock market. She didn't oppose. She only worried that he would blame himself if he lost money.
- "Okay, Mommy. I won't mess around."
- When Luna left, Paxton rolled up his sleeves and immediately logged into his stock market account as he started to work.
- On the other end, Daxton ran to Adrian's house alone. He knocked at the door for almost a minute before the door opened.
- Arthur opened the door and looked around. He didn't see anyone and was about to close the door when someone pulled at his pants.
- "Mr. Handsome, my mommy invited you and Mr. Adrian to come over for a late-night meal as thanks for your help just now."
- "A late-night meal?"
- Arthur looked at the time. It was only past nine. He wanted to turn Daxton down but couldn't bear to when he saw Daxton's expectant gaze. "Alright."
- "See you there, Mr. Handsome!" As Daxton looked at Arthur with his bright eyes, Daxton felt a great liking for Arthur.
- Arthur crouched down, and his tone softened. He answered, "Okay."
- Daxton clapped excitedly and suddenly stood on tiptoe to kiss Arthur's cheek.
- "I'll go home and wait for you to come over, Mr. Handsome."
- As Arthur watched Daxton run away eagerly, he touched his cheek. There was a strange feeling in his heart.
- "Who was it, bro?" A towel was around Adrian's waist. He walked over in slippers but realized no one was at the door.
- "Let's go across and have a late-night meal." Arthur narrowed his eyes. He pondered as he looked at the tightly shut door opposite them.
- "A late-night meal?" Adrian glanced at his wristwatch and mumbled, "Who has a late-night meal at nine?"
- Arthur walked around him and took a bottle of water from the refrigerator. He drank it and answered, "I made a promise."
- Adrian seemed to have noticed something.
- Although his brother had no interest in Luna, Arthur clearly felt differently about the two children.
- Or perhaps Arthur could have a breakthrough with the children?
- Adrian returned to his room and changed into leisurewear before he and Arthur went next door.
- The door was open. They were about to knock when Daxton ran over and cried happily, "You're really here, Mr. Handsome!"
- "Of course, we have to come when there's food." Adrian stroked Daxton's head and carefully sized up the furnishings in the house.
- "Mommy is making something yummy in the kitchen. Mr. Handsome and Mr. Adrian, please sit on the couch. I'll pour you some water."
- "Dax, where's your brother?" Arthur asked as he looked around the living room.
- "Pax is in the room."
- Arthur glanced at the open room door and walked into Paxton's room.
- Paxton sat before the computer, and his little hands flew across the keyboard.
- When Paxton heard noises behind him, he clicked a button, and the page turned into a children's game.
- Arthur saw everything Paxton did.
- He walked to Paxton and asked indifferently, "Have you learned computer programming?"
