Chapter 3 Mr Handsome, My Mummy Is Single Too

  • After they were done shopping, they queued up at the counter. Luna was in a good mood.
  • Suddenly, an elderly man before them fell to the floor, clutching his chest.
  • He was drenched in sweat, and his skin was devoid of color.
  • "Someone call an ambulance!"
  • A crowd formed around them. Someone called out, "Is there a doctor here? What's wrong with him?"
  • "Move aside. I am a doctor."
  • A girl approached them.
  • She checked the man's eyes and his temperature. "It could be a heart attack…"
  • Before she could finish her sentence, Luna interjected, "It's not just a heart attack. It's a myocardial infarction caused heart attack."
  • Luna walked over and stopped the girl.
  • "What do you know? I just examined him, and his symptoms suggest a heart attack."
  • Luna retrieved a roll of leather and unraveled it, revealing the shining silver needles within.
  • "I'm telling you, it's myocardial infarction. I need to administer acupuncture immediately, or he will die."
  • "Stop!"
  • The girl grabbed Luna's hand, stopping her. "Don't act recklessly just because you want some attention. His life is at stake!"
  • Luna shoved her hand away and said cooly, "You're stopping me from saving his life."
  • Luna pulled up the man's shirt, and with surgical precision, she pierced the silver needles into his chest.
  • "What brazen behavior!"
  • The onlookers murmured among themselves. "Even seasoned acupuncturists would need decades of experience before attempting acupuncture near the heart like this."
  • "I know. I can't believe how daring she is."
  • "What happens if something goes wrong? She'll get in trouble."
  • "But look at how confident she is. Maybe she knows what she's doing!"
  • "No one knows for sure…"
  • Luna wasn't fazed at all by their mutterings. She remained focused on the acupuncture points around the heart and inserted the needles confidently.
  • Luna then removed his shoes. Using the needles, she pricked his feet. The blood released from the wounds was so dark they looked black.
  • The elderly man shuddered. The crowd gasped in surprise.
  • "Did she kill him?"
  • "Cough…"
  • The elderly man, who was still struggling to breathe just a minute ago, coughed violently. The color gradually returned to his cheeks.
  • "He's okay! He's really okay…"
  • The paramedics finally arrived just as the elderly man woke up.
  • Luna quietly stepped back once the medical team surrounded the man.
  • Luna turned to her two sons waiting nearby with their hands full of shopping. She smiled and hurried over.
  • "Mummy, I'm hungry. Can we go get some food, please?"
  • Dax rubbed his empty belly and blinked tearfully at Luna.
  • Pax shook his head disapprovingly at his brother and scolded him like an adult. "You ate so much on the plane. Where did it all go?"
  • Dax looked down at his feet and twiddled his thumbs.
  • Luna patted both boys on the head and smiled, "Alright. Let's get them to deliver the shopping home, and we'll have dinner."
  • After arranging the delivery, they took the elevator up to the eighty-six floor, where there was a revolving restaurant.
  • After finding some window seats, Luna showed the boys the menu. Once they made their choices, Luna added some seafood and fruit tea to the order and returned the menu to the waiter.
  • Dax propped his chin up with his hands and blinked curiously at his mother. "Mummy, do we still have money?"
  • "Don't worry. Mummy has money. What do you want to buy?"
  • Feeling curious, Luna pinched Dax's chubby cheeks.
  • Dax looked up at Luna, "I want a piano."
  • "Sure. What brand would you like? Mummy will get it for you."
  • Luna had never held back whenever her sons wanted something.
  • "I don't want a branded one. I want the one Mr. Liny used. They will auction it off in the city in a couple of days."
  • Mr. Liny was a renowned pianist and president of the International Music Association. His accomplishments in the musical field were astounding.
  • Dax was lucky enough to be taught by Mr. Liny once. He became a fan since then.
  • Luna patted Dax's head and smiled, "Let Mummy know when the auction starts, and I'll get it for you."
  • "Thank you, Mummy! You're the best!"
  • Dax grinned. He tugged Pax's shirt, "Dax, I need to go pee!"
  • Pax glanced at him and sighed in exasperation. He stood up, saying, "You're old enough to go to the toilet yourself."
  • "Hurry up, Pax! I really need to go!"
  • Seeing Dax's urgency, Luna cautioned them, "Be careful and come back quickly after you're done."
  • "Okay, Mummy."
  • The two boys skipped happily to the restroom. On the way back, they saw someone familiar.
  • It was Mr. Handsome, who they had seen earlier!
  • They ran up to him in excitement. "Mr. Handsome!" Dax called out. "Are you eating here too?"
  • Arthur glanced at the two boys in surprise. "You too?" Adrian was unusually gentle with them.
  • "Who are these two boys, Mr. Finch?"
  • The woman with Arthur was dressed to the nines. Her heart twinged when she saw how gentle he was towards the two children.
  • Remembering something, Arthur pulled Dax and Pax towards him.
  • "Ms. Byrne, do you think they look like me?" Arthur asked.
  • She took in their uncanny resemblance and remembered his earlier aloofness. Anger bubbled up in her.
  • "Mr. Finch, you're unmarried but you have two children?" Ms. Byrne's voice was trembling, and her hands clenched in fists.
  • "Do you want to continue this blind date, Ms. Byrne?"
  • Instead of answering her, Arthur shot another question back at her.
  • "I didn't think Mr. Finch, famous for keeping women at arm's length, would have children this big. Why keep up the pretense when you have a family?"
  • Ms. Byrne grabbed her bag and stormed off.
  • Dax blinked in confusion. He turned to Arthur and asked, "Mr. Handsome, were we interrupting you and that lady?"
  • Arthur knelt to be at eye level with them and said, "Of course not. I should be thanking you for getting rid of her."
  • "Were you on a blind date, Mr. Handsome?"
  • Dax shook Arthur's hand to get his attention. "Mr. Handsome, Mummy is single too. And she's pretty. Would you consider dating her?" Dax said in his childlike voice.
