Chapter 7 Her Lips Are Flaking from The Kiss
- 'Whoosh…'
- Luna couldn't open her eyes. She gasped and wanted to speak, but water flowed down her mouth.
- When Arthur came to his senses, he turned away. He was still holding Luna's hand.
- "Why aren't you getting up? You're so heavy."
- Luna reached out to shove Arthur's waist. When she spoke, she felt a fiery pain on her lower lip.
- "I'm sorry. It's slippery."
- It would have been better if Arthur didn't explain. He seemed to have a guilty conscience when he did.
- After getting up, Arthur immediately turned off the water in the bathroom.
- He wiped away the water on his face and explained. "The children must not have shut it properly, which was why the water streamed down when the main switch was turned on."
- "I'm really sorry. I've troubled you, and you ended up drenched in water."
- Luna held a grudge against Arthur for accidentally kissing her, but she took a new towel off the rack and gave it to him.
- "Dry yourself!"
- "I can just go home and take a shower."
- It was the height of summer. Arthur was soaked all over and wanted to quickly go back and shower.
- Luna stood on tiptoe, draping the towel around Arthur's shoulders as she mumbled. "Don't worry, this is clean. If you return dripping wet, Mr. Adrian might think I did something to you!"
- Arthur's gaze was subconsciously directed at Luna. Her lip had split open with a dark red bloodstain. She looked lovely and demure.
- "He isn't such a meddlesome person."
- Luna smiled and didn't say anything else.
- On the other end, Paxton and Daxton were in the bathtub. Adrian was keeping watch over the two in front of them. In the blink of an eye, he was currying favor with them.
- "Pax and Dax. It must be tiring for your mommy to raise you, right?"
- Dax nodded and quickly answered, "Yes. It's tiring for Mommy to raise Pax and me."
- "What about your daddy?"
- "We don't have a daddy. Mommy gets upset every time we talk about a daddy…"
- Before Dax could finish speaking, he felt his thigh being pinched.
- He looked at Pax tearfully and asked in an aggrieved tone. "Pax, why did you pinch me? It hurts!"
- Pax was dumbstruck. He looked up.
- They were clearly fraternal twins. Why is Dax always so dense?
- "It's alright. I'm not a bad person. I just want to know more about your mommy."
- Dax blinked and asked excitedly, "Mr. Adrian, do you like my mommy?"
- "Of course, I like your mommy! I like both of you too!"
- Adrian reached out to pat Daxton's head. Before Adrian could explain, he heard Daxton say in a confused tone, "But I want Mr. Handsome to be my daddy."
- Adrian licked his lips and asked, "Is that my brother?"
- Daxton raised his head doubtfully and asked, "Is the handsome man from just now your brother?"
- Adrian answered, "Yes. Although he doesn't usually say much, he's very nice. Why don't we matchmake your mommy and my brother?"
- "Mr. Adrian, we don't need a daddy. We have an adoptive father."
- Paxton interrupted their conversation just in time. He felt that if Daxton said anymore, Daxton would be betraying their mom.
- "That's different from a father."
- Adrian wanted to continue, but Paxton answered solemnly, "Since it's not our biological father, it's the same."
- Adrian felt as if someone had grabbed him by the throat. He was rendered speechless.
- Paxton pulled Daxton as they stood up with water trickling down. Paxton spoke politely, "Dax and I are done with our bath, Mr. Adrian. We should go back."
- "Alright. I'll send you back."
- As Adrian helped them put their bathrobes on, he felt they looked like Arthur when Arthur was younger.
- "Can I take a few photos of you?"
- Adrian took out his cell phone while asking the twins.
- Before Paxton could turn him down, Daxton held Paxton's hand and beamed. "Sure, Mr. Adrian!"
- After quickly taking a few pictures, Adrian carefully kept his cell phone before holding the twins' hands and exiting the bathroom.
- When he saw Arthur walk in soaking, he coughed lightly. "Bro, what happened?"
- "Nothing."
- After that, Arthur turned and entered the bathroom.
- "Thank you, Mr. Adrian. I came to take Pax and Dax home."
- Adrian's gaze fell on the wound on Luna's lips. A sliver of excitement streaked across his eyes.
- He restrained his curious feelings as he sent Luna and the children off.
- When the door shut, Adrian rushed to the bathroom.
- "Bro…" Adrian frowned and smiled affectionately. "Did something happen between you two just now? Don't you know how to kiss? Her lips are flaking."
- "Can you not say such dumb things?"
- Through the glass, Adrian saw Arthur's perfect and flawless figure. He couldn't help but shake his head.
- "Bro, tell me. What's the point of working out daily when you don't have a girlfriend?"
- Arthur threw the towel in his hands straight at Adrian. Arthur said coldly, "If you say anything else, you can return and take over the company."
- Adrian handed the towel back to Arthur with a smile. "There's no need to do such a thing, bro."
- Arthur wrapped the towel around him. He rubbed his hair and said, "I should let your fans see how their Prince Charming behaves."
- "I'm sorry, bro! It's my fault!"
- Adrian walked behind Arthur and restrained his mischievous expression.
- "Bro, the hospital called me just now. They said that Grandpa wasn't in good condition. He can't be agitated again."
- "What does that mean?"
- Arthur glanced at Adrian. He felt like Adrian was holding something back.
- Adrian sighed as he sat next to Arthur on the couch. "Do you remember your blind date today?"
- Arthur answered, "Mm. So?"
- "Ms. Byrne's father called and spoke badly about you. Don't you think Grandpa will be furious when he finds out?!"
- Arthur secretly felt sorry for his grandfather when Adrian brought it up.
- "I don't like Ms. Byrne."
- "I know you don't, but you're getting old. You're twenty-eight years old. There isn't a single girl or woman by your side. Don't you think Grandpa will be worried?"
- Upon seeing Arthur silent, Adrian continued to persuade him patiently.
- "It's been so many years. Bro, don't you have someone you like?"
- Arthur shook his head. He had a visibly nasty expression when his love life was mentioned.
- In fact, Luna's words rang in his head. It annoyed him.
- Adrian felt very helpless about his ethereal-looking brother.
- "Bro, are you a normal man?"
- Arthur looked at Adrian like he thought the latter was a fool. He answered, "I'm fine, but I'm not sure about you."
- Adrian waved his hand, and he suddenly hit his thigh.
- "Bro, don't tell me it's what the rumors have been saying. Do you like men?"
