Chapter 66 Conflicting Hearts

• As the taillights of Edwin's car disappeared down the winding driveway, Lance and Olivia stood side by side in the doorway of their family mansion. The night air was cool, carrying the faint scent of blooming jasmine from the garden. Lance felt a mix of emotions swirling within him - contentment from the successful dinner, warmth from Edwin's parting smile, and a tinge of longing he was trying hard to resist.
• He was glad that nobody noticed how nervous he was during the dinner. The love of his life, who happened to be a man, was practically sitting at the same dining table eating with him and his family. He was filled with both joy and fear of his actual feelings for the actor being noticed by his family, which was why he had tried as much as possible not to give anything away. God knows he wasn't ready to face his family yet concerning his sexuality.
