Chapter 14

• Annabelle feels overwhelmed by his generosity. At his attempt to make her dreams come true, so why can she not feel gratitude toward him? Why does she just want to turn around and throttle him? She mulls it over quickly, knowing that she hates having her hand forced in anything. It's not that she has to be in control— well, maybe just a little bit. But at least she wants to be the one making the choices where she's concerned. Not treated like some compliant woman who submits without question to decisions she is forced to follow.
• Why does he irritate her so much? Is it because every time she looks at his lips or watches his fingers rub over his jaw, her body tightens in anticipation of how they felt on her? Or is it because she can hear his rasp of a voice in her dreams telling her how much he wants her? Shit! Her life was perfectly fine until last weekend. And then she met him, and now she's a flustered mess.
• She shouldn't care that he was making out and doing God knows what with Bailey, but she does. She's embarrassed that he probably thinks she lets any guy she meets put his hands on her. She's irritated that she knows the only reason for his pursuit is because she's not falling for his smooth lines and eloquent bullshit. She's confused why a man who is like a Pied Piper to women much prettier, sexier, everything than her is even glancing twice in her direction.
