- She smiles at the thought as she finishes collecting her things and says goodbye to the troops.
- Traffic is unusually light as she drives toward the office. She takes this as a sign that good things are going to happen. It’s a beautiful, sunny California day, unusually warm for the ending of January. What she would give to grab a towel, head to the beach, and lay there, letting the sun’s warmth rejuvenate her.
- In no time at all, she pulls into the parking lot of Corporate Cares. She walks quickly up to the building’s lobby, checking her reflection in the mirrored windows. She has on her favorite blue jeans that sit low on her waist and a snug, red V-neck t-shirt. Luckily, she had an extra one in her bag because she doesn’t think Teddy would enjoy her original one that’s now splattered with Ricky’s vomit. She fusses with her hair for a moment, pulling the clip from it, letting her curls fall down her back.
