• Don Lorenzo was a ‘businessman’ in Cosenza, Italy.... at least that’s how he thought of himself. He did, in fact, own several businesses, but most of them were simply fronts to launder dirty money for the local mafia. And the ‘business’ that was most lucrative for the mob was actually his strong-arm and extortion racket that he wielded over the entire town.... every shop and business owner in town paid Lorenzo ‘protection’ money each month.
• He had risen to this position of power over several years.... initially running numbers for his uncle, who had been in charge of the town’s extortion operation before him.... then becoming his uncle’s most trusted capo.... and eventually taking over when he died.
