Chapter 31

• ~Zeus~
• The night after Pearl saved my brother’s life, I was sitting on the beach, just trying to catch my breath. I don’t even know what happens when a god dies. Do we return to Olympus, Heaven, become a star or constellation, or do we just vanish? So many unanswered questions. You’d think I’d know, considering I’m a god, but the truth is, I’m not the high God, so I don’t have all the answers. Sometimes I wish I did.
• As I’m staring out into space, I see the history of our kind, marked in the stars. Constellations that have traced our passage through time and space. As I’m looking at each sparkle, I’m reminded of what this world means to me and realize the witches were trying to show me compassion. Something I lost long ago. Maybe it was the divorce. Maybe it was my selfish desires, but I miss my home and being someone worthy of the title of Zeus, the god of thunder.
