Chapter 14 You’re Free, Aren’t You?

• "Uncle Zeke, do you know privacy at all?"
• Anne said as she slightly opened her fingers that were covering her face.
• Zeke smiled and shook his head when he saw her like this.
• "If you want to look at me, then do it, you don't need to be sneaky."
• "No way!"
• Anne turned around once more, this time with her back facing Zeke. Her face was as red as an apple.
• Zeke decided not to tease her anymore and went back to the bathroom.
• Anne heaved a sigh of relief and patted her chest.
• "How is my uncle so handsome?"
• She sighed and went out of the office before Zeke was done showering.
• Anne did not know why she wanted to get away from there. She just felt that it would be too awkward to stay in the office much longer.
• Anne went to the training grounds and attracted lots of attention from the soldiers because she was a woman.
• "Who is she?"
• "I don't know, since when did this woman come to our base?"
• "Tsk… Tsk… She's really good-looking."
• All of the men's eyes flashed as they were attracted by Anne's sudden appearance.
• Xavier saw Anne, and the other soldiers looking at her with infatuation. "All of you better keep your eyes to yourselves if you don't want to get in trouble. That's Capt. Garrett's niece, he cares about her very much!"
• Everyone shuddered when they heard Zeke's name.
• They could not afford to anger Zeke as he was strict.
• All of the soldiers withdrew their eyes in an instant and started training.
• Anne looked at the soldiers and wanted to hide as far away from them as possible. It was as if she had seen a herd of beasts, she was stunned for a while.
• "Hey there, how do I get out of here?"
• Anne grabbed a soldier by his arm.
• Her voice was soft and tender. She was also kind and good-looking.
• The soldier blushed immediately.
• "The exit is far away. You can ask Capt. Garrett to drive you there."
• Anne felt a little down.
• She would not have to get away from Zeke if she knew he could drive her there.
• "Just tell me how to get there."
• Anne did not let go of the soldier's arm.
• Xavier glared at the soldier, but the soldier did not notice it.
• "Just take this route and continue straight. Perhaps I could take you there instead."
• As soon as the soldier finished speaking, he felt a cold glare behind his back, as if he was pierced by a sharp sword.
• "You seem to be free, Kevin. Do three sets of training today. You're not allowed to eat and rest unless you're done."
• Zeke's voice could be heard and she was stunned.
• No way.
• How is he this quick?
• It was only at that moment that the poor soldier realized that his arm was still grabbed by Anne. He then broke free of her grasp and pleaded, "Capt. Garrett, I can't do that, I'll die."
• "Don't worry, I'll make a report about your merits if you died ."
• After Zeke was done giving orders, he went over to Anne's and wrapped his arms around her casually. He said in a low tone, "Do you want to leave?"
• He looked at her fondly. Where did the stern look from before go?
• The soldier almost fainted after seeing his sudden change in attitude.
• Is he Capt. Garrett?
• Were they mistaken?
• Anne could not see the soldiers' expressions. She felt like a child that was being taken care of by Zeke.
• "I wanna go back, Uncle Zeke."
• Anne's voice was not loud. However, everyone could hear her clearly because the surroundings were too quiet.
• Zeke frowned because she addressed him as her uncle, but now was not the time to argue with her.
• "I'll send you back."
• "You don't have to, I can go back by myself."
• Anne saw Zeke's face sinking as soon as she finished speaking.
• All right then.
• She was a little scared.
• "Uhm well, why don't you send me back, Uncle Zeke?."
• "Wait here, let me get my coat."
• "Xavier, go get my coat. I'll take Anne to the car first."
• He held Anne's hand subconsciously as he said that, then left.
• His warm and giant hands wrapped Anne's hand completely.
• Anne looked at his hand and felt at ease.
• She no longer cared if Harper or Amy cared about her. At least she had an uncle who loved her for who she was.
• Anne grinned.
• She noticed that Zeke was tall and handsome under the sun.
• "You're so handsome, Uncle Zeke. I wonder what kind of girl you like."
• Anne's words made Zeke furrow his eyebrows.
• "What do you think? What kind of girl would I like?"
• Anne was stunned for a moment and thought of Dr. Preston, the military doctor.
