Chapter 7 Make Daddy Fall in Love with Violet
- Danny's eyebrows immediately furrowed tightly together, and he turned around to face Ryan suspiciously. "It wasn't him?"
- Forget the servants; even David and himself had been taken away by the butler last night. The house was devoid of people the entire night. If not his father, who else could have harmed his mother?
- Ryan gave a light cough of embarrassment. "Young Master Danny, please come with me."
- Danny glanced at Henry suspiciously. Still, he leaped off the desk and followed the butler to the monitoring room on his short legs. He looked like a mature but miniature adult.
- Once they were inside the monitoring room, Ryan quickly pulled up the surveillance recording of the corridor last night.
- In the surveillance video, Violet stumbled out of the bedroom with nothing more than a towel wrapped around her. She was so drunk that she couldn't figure out left from right. Thus, she stood on the spot and whirled around in confused circles.
- She turned left and bumped into an enormous vase. Then, she turned to the right and slammed into the decorative cabinet nearby. It definitely hurt her since her face twisted into a grimace, but she persisted in walking forward and began wrestling with a tall corn plant along the corridor.
- Thanks to the high-definition camera, Danny could clearly see the bruises that formed on Violet's arms and legs when she bumped into the vase.
- Not far away stood Henry in pajamas. He was coldly watching her stumble around with his arms crossed in front of his chest. It wasn't until she finally stopped moving that he finally stepped forward and carried her back to her room.
- Danny stared at the scenario displayed on the surveillance video in dumbfounded amazement. After he saw the injuries on Violet's body this morning, he assumed that his father, who never showed interest in women, had suddenly found his passion for, well, that one woman. He did not expect the truth to be so different from what he had envisioned.
- How disappointing…
- "Look, Young Master Danny. The wounds on Mrs. Turner's body have nothing to do with Mr. Turner." Ryan sighed softly. "She was simply too drunk."
- Danny pursed his lips in embarrassment. Even so, he shot a stern glance at the man standing by the door. "You are partly at fault. Why did you do nothing but stand there and watch her stumbling around and bumping into the furniture? Why didn't you help her?"
- Henry answered indifferently, "Have you noticed that several bottles of top-quality rare wines have gone missing from the wine cabinet downstairs?"
- Danny's complexion turned pale. His father was not fond of socializing or playing around with women. Henry generally lived an extremely self-disciplined life. Apart from his work, his greatest hobby was collecting famous and rare wines to display at home. Every single bottle of wine in the wine cabinet downstairs was extremely expensive.
- Danny chewed on his lips as he wracked his brains for something, anything. Eventually, he gave up as he pretended to remember something and suddenly ran outside as fast as his short legs could carry him. "I have something to do! Bye!"
- "Didn't you say that she was yours? Well?" Henry stooped down and stopped his son from escaping. "A man should take responsibility for his people."
- Danny was rendered speechless by his father's words.
- Mr. Henry Turner… You're such a rich man. Why are you trying to extort money from your own son? He took out his phone with a pained expression and transferred 10,000 to Henry. "I'll pay you back in installments."
- After he said that, he shook off Henry's arm and fled on his short legs.
- Ryan stared at Danny's light yellow back in amazement. "Mr. Turner, it seems that you have made the right decision to marry Mrs. Turner."
- Henry nodded slightly and stared after Danny with a profound gaze.
- …
- "Dan! What right did you have to transfer my allowance to Daddy?" Inside the children's room, David stood aggressively with his hands on his hips. "That's the money Grandpa secretly gave me to buy a remote car!"
- Danny folded his legs gracefully. "Daddy threatened that he would kick Violet out of the house if I refused to pay him compensation." Then, he glanced at David worriedly. "I don't particularly mind, but you will never get to eat her delicious home-cooked food again."
- David hesitated. "Fine."
- When he considered his options, he figured a remote-control car was not as important as good food.
- "But Daddy's wines are too expensive." Danny sighed in dejection. "Violet drank several tens of thousands worth of his wine last night. Even our combined allowance is not enough to pay for the damages."
- David frowned and anxiously paced around the room. Several tens of thousands… That's enough for several hundred remote-controlled cars… All of a sudden, an idea formed in his mind! "Dan, why don't we start addressing Violet as 'Mommy'? We can also push Daddy and Mommy into a relationship with each other!"
- A cunning look flashed through Danny's eyes, and he nodded solemnly. "That makes sense. When a man is in love, his IQ will lower. He won't care about the costs either. That's decided, then!"
- David jumped around in excitement. "In that case, I'm going to start planning. How should I get Daddy to fall in love with Violet… No, to fall in love with Mommy!"
- Danny glanced at his brother sitting in front of the desk in satisfaction. "You have many cunning ideas indeed. You should start drafting the plan. I'm going downstairs."
- The sound of water came from the kitchen. Violet was currently washing the dishes.
- Five years ago, she was wrecked with guilt when she learned that she was not the biological child of the Walt Family. As a result, she began to undertake all the difficult and heavy labor in the house. Steven and Lacey had politely refused her goodwill at the beginning, but they later dismissed their servants altogether and left all the housework to her. Hence, she gradually developed the habit of diligently doing the housework daily.
- "Come here." Danny dragged Violet out of the kitchen. "We have servants at home, so you don't need to do these things." After he said that, he pulled her over to the sofa and made her sit down in front of him. "You are not allowed to drink from now on." He looked at her with a serious expression. "It's bad for your health."
- It was also very bad for his and his brother's wallets.
- Violet pursed her lips, feeling embarrassed. "To be honest, I don't usually drink either."
- It was just that she had seen Brock and Natalie openly displaying their relationship yesterday, which made her extremely unhappy. Just the thought of those two immediately made her mood turn sour.
- Nonetheless, she had to force herself to relax and smile since she was in the presence of a child. "It's all in the past! I won't drink for no reason again!"
- He crossed his arms in front of his chest, studying her face seriously with his large eyes. "Did you go through a breakup recently?"
- She immediately went dead silent as her smile froze on her face.
- "It's written all over your face." His voice was very gentle. "Miss Walt, you're a married woman now. It's not good to remain hung up over your ex-boyfriend."
- She quickly denied his statement. "I am not hung up over him."
- He sighed. "It looks like you really did suffer heartbreak."
- Generally, a heartbroken woman will lose interest in all men for some time. Unfortunately, it seems that Mr. Turner's journey to woo his wife will not be easy.
- The little guy stood up and trudged up the stairs in melancholy. "I'm so young, yet I have to worry about the relationships of the adults in my life. It's so tiring."
- When Violet heard her, she had to swallow her amusement and force herself not to say anything.
- After Danny went upstairs, she wanted to continue doing the housework but was chased away by the servants. Finally, she was so bored that she could only take out the books she had brought over last time and started reading.
- It wasn't until the sky darkened in the evening that she straightened up and went downstairs to make dinner for Danny.
- As soon as she came downstairs, she saw Danny standing by the door and wearing his shoes. He was dressed in sports attire. When he noticed her, he raised a hand in greeting. "5.00PM to 6.00PM is the time I go for a walk. Do you want to join me?"
- "I'll pass." She smiled and tied an apron around her waist. "I'll stay at home and make something delicious for you."
- "Okay." He nodded and gracefully opened the door to leave.
- He has such a haughty demeanor, very unlike a five-year-old child. She couldn't help feeling amazed as she entered the kitchen to prepare dinner. There were prawns in the kitchen that the servants had bought today, so she decided to make a luxurious meal for Danny.
- While Violet was busy cooking in the kitchen, a delicious aroma wafted upstairs and entered David's nose.
- He closed the book in his hands that he was reading. It had the title 'Guide to Love'. When he cautiously opened the door, he sniffed at the aroma coming from downstairs. He was practically drooling at this point.
- I can't stand it! I can't stand it anymore! Dan was wearing sports attire when he went downstairs earlier, right? He flew to the closet and found a set of sportswear that was identical to the clothes his brother was wearing. Afterward, he rushed downstairs.
- "What's for dinner tonight?" David rushed downstairs and threw himself at the dining table. "Wow!"
- Violet, who was bringing the dishes to the table, stared blankly at the 'Danny' standing in front of her. If she was not mistaken… Did he just come down from upstairs?
