Chapter 12 Henry Turner Is a Sc*mbag
- After dinner, Violet went back to her room. Once she took off her clothes, she began to check on the bruises that were inflicted upon her during the filming today. At that moment, a knock came from outside the door. So, she hurriedly put on her clothes and went to open the door.
- It was Danny. He walked into the room and handed a piece of paper to her. "Sign this."
- At the same time, David pushed open the door of the study. Henry's work came to a grinding halt as a result.
- "A postnuptial agreement?" Violet frowned. "Number one, I have to fall in love with Henry Turner within a month. I can't fall in love with him."
- "I won't fall in love with her." Inside the study, Henry coldly pushed the contract away. "At most, I neither dislike nor despise her."
- David rested his chin on his hands, seemingly deep in thought. Then, he blinked his large, teary eyes as he looked at Henry innocently. "But, Daddy, not having any dislike or disgust for her is the prerequisite for falling in love with her."
- Henry glanced sideways at his son. "How did you and your brother come about if I was celibate?"
- David rolled his eyes. "You don't even like my biological mother!"
- Henry frowned.
- The darkness from five years ago surfaced in his mind. Yet, even now, he could recall her gentle voice and the soft touch of her body. He swallowed slightly and paused for a moment before he asked, "How do you know I don't like your mother?"
- "How do you know I will fall in love with your father?" Inside the bedroom, Violet gave Danny a helpless look.
- "Daddy is as handsome as we are."
- "But you can't fall in love with a person just by looking at their appearance."
- "He is good in other aspects too. So, you will know if you just give him a chance."
- She did not respond. Instead, she pursed her lips and swept her gaze down the rest of the contract. "Why do I need to conceive Henry's baby in half a year?"
- "Because you don't have a biological child of your own, Mommy."
- Inside the study, David smiled and continued speaking. "Look, Daddy. You have Dan and me. We are your biological children. But Mommy is all alone. That's why you need to give her a child of her own, one who will stand by her side."
- Henry snorted coldly. "Are you saying that you and your brother are standing on my side now?"
- David was at a loss for words. Then, he leaped off the desk angrily and placed his hands on his hips. "I don't care! I want a younger sister! I don't care what methods you use, Daddy. You have to make Mommy conceive a younger sister within half a year! Otherwise, don't you remember how I spread rumors about your cruelty before? Mark my words. I will spread rumors about your impotence this time around!''
- Henry was rendered speechless by his daring.
- …
- Ten minutes later, Henry returned to the master bedroom under Danny and David's incessant urging. Although he originally planned to ignore their antics, Danny was too skilled at programming. Danny had created a virus and hacked into his computer, preventing him from working that night.
- Sometimes, it was troublesome to have such a talented son.
- Violet was taking a bath in the bathroom of the master bedroom. She never imagined that she would accept the fact that she had two sons who were unrelated to her so easily. However, she suddenly felt incredibly blessed as she soaked in the bathtub filled with rose petals that Danny had prepared for her!
- It's such a nice feeling to be pampered by my sons!
- She finished bathing in a good mood and came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel.
- Outside the bathroom, a noble and arrogant man was leaning on the bed and reading a book. The light at the head of the bed illuminated him from the side, which made his outline more enchanting.
- Violet was so shocked that she nearly screamed at the sight of him. "W-Why… Why are you here?"
- Henry raised his head and glanced at her indifferently. "Why can't I be here?"
- She pursed her lips at his retort. He was right. They were a married couple. It was true that he was supposed to live with her in the same bedroom. Besides, one of the terms in the contract that Danny made her sign earlier was for her to conceive Henry's child within half a year…
- Everything should have been his idea… Right? Danny is just a five-year-old child, after all. How can a child make such a request?
- With that thought in mind, she shuddered slightly in her heart.
- "Why haven't your injuries healed yet?" He frowned slightly, studying the bruises and red welts that covered her entire body. Her wounds seemed even more severe than the photos Danny had shown him yesterday.
- "These are new." She came back to her senses. Then, she took out some ointment from the bedside table, sat on the rug, and began applying the medicine on herself. "I am a stuntwoman working in Silverfilm, after all. These injuries are nothing."
- He put his book down. "A stuntwoman? Do you know how to fight?"
- "Nope." She raised her head and smiled brightly. "But I have thick skin. I can afford to take a beating."
- He narrowed his eyes slightly as he regarded her fair legs.
- Thick skin? He had not forgotten the smooth and delicate touch of her slender legs against the palm of his hand.
- His gaze made her blush slightly, and she instinctively slowed down her movements while applying the medicine.
- By the time she finished applying the medicine, the man had already fallen asleep. The dim wall lamp softened the cold and arrogant lines on his face. She hesitated for a moment before coming to a decision. Eventually, she grabbed some blankets and created a bed on the floor.
- "Do you not dare to sleep on the bed?" When the light in the bedroom turned off, his cold voice rang out in the bedroom.
- She clutched at the blankets nervously. "I have a bad sleeping posture, so I'm afraid I might disturb your sleep."
- "Hah." His sneer sounded in her ear, and then he fell silent.
- The night passed in peace and silence.
- When Violet woke up in the morning, there was nobody on the bed. So, she climbed to her feet and went downstairs to prepare breakfast.
- "Mommy!" During breakfast, David smirked mischievously. "Did you and Daddy sleep well last night?"
- Violet was slightly taken aback. "I-It was fine."
- "Eat properly!" Danny rolled his eyes at David.
- David pouted, but he quietly lowered his head to eat his breakfast. When Violet left for work, he finally lay down on the couch aggrievedly and glared at his elder brother. "Why were you glaring at me earlier?"
- Danny maturely folded his arms. "They weren't creating a little sister last night."
- David pouted. "How do you know?"
- Danny raised a hand and rapped his knuckles on David's head. "Daddy left for work early in the morning. More importantly, Mommy didn't even blush when we mentioned it last night. That proves that nothing happened between them. If they had been intimate with each other, Daddy would not have left Mommy alone this morning."
- David nodded thoughtfully. Still, it was clear that he was unwilling to accept this outcome. After a while, he raised his head again. He stared at his brother, who looked exactly like himself, with big, teary eyes. "But, what if Henry Turner is a scumbag?"
