Chapter 9 You Are Fired

• “Huh?” Realizing that she had messed up her best friend's blind date, Yvonne felt even more embarrassed.
• The woman could tell what it meant when a glint flashed across the man's eyes as he gazed at her. He's fallen for me, but I'm only representing my friend here!
• Yvonne immediately got anxious. She wanted to explain herself, but Savant did not give her the chance to do so. His face hardened after he glanced at his phone. He then caressed her hair gently and voiced softly, “I'll treat you to a meal next time.”
• With that, Savant turned around and hurried away, seemingly having something urgent to attend to.
• After watching Savant leave, Yvonne sighed with furrowed eyebrows. “What do I do? Maybe I should just tell him the truth the next time we meet.”
• The man in the luxury car far away saw what had happened.
• How dare they put on such a public display of affection! They're shameless... That man has left, yet she's still looking at him. As expected, she is nothing but a gold digger. She will just throw herself at any rich man she meets.
• “Drive!”
• Yosef took a second before he realized he was supposed to step on the accelerator.
• Yvonne had just regained her senses when the luxury car suddenly zoomed past her, causing the puddle of water on the road to splash all over her.
• “Come on! Seriously?”
• Instead of stopping to apologize, the driver continued to drive until the vehicle was out of sight.
• Yvonne could not help but wonder what she did to deserve such misfortune. Her clothes were completely soaked.
• On her way back, Yvonne got an urgent call from the office. She was informed that something was wrong with a contract that had been translated recently, and it almost caused the client to make a loss in an investment that was worth tens of million. Yvonne just so happened to be the one who processed the translated contract.
• However, that was supposed to be Ximena's job. Yvonne simply helped to briefly check the contract.
• Still, Yvonne was unceremoniously fired by the management because of the error in the document.
• When Yvonne arrived at the office, there was nothing she could do but pack her things and leave.
• “Get lost! Our company has no place for someone like you! Take your compensation and leave!”
• Fortunately, Yvonne got compensated reasonably with a month's worth of salary.
• Yvonne then called Ximena, intending to get an explanation, but the call did not go through.
• In the end, Yvonne had no choice but to pack up and leave.
• “So what if you're pretty? We don't need incompetent employees!”
• “Tsk! Looking good is all you're good for.”
• Yvonne could hear her colleagues' discussion as she got ready to leave, yet she decided not to defend herself. She merely held her belongings and left the office.
• She knew she would only make things worse by trying to explain herself.
• Still, Yvonne was aware that she had to find a new source of income soon because of her mother's situation.
• She would need money to pay for her mother's medical bills.
• On his way home, Jonathan received a phone call from Walter.
• “Let me tell you this, you b*stard! I'll never agree to the divorce, so you're left with only two choices. Either you get Yvonne back, or I disown you!”
• Jonathan frowned after hearing that. How the heck did Yvonne get my grandfather to side with her?
• Then, the elderly man continued, “I've already decided to take Yvonne back to our home. As for you, stop fooling around with other women and deal with your mess, or I'll do it for you.”
• “Grandpa! This is my business, so just let me handle it myself.”
• Instead of responding to that, Walter hung up on Jonathan.
• Looking at Jonathan's hardened face, Yosef felt bad for the man but did not know what to say.
• There's an emotional barrier between Mr. Lawson and Old Mr. Lawson. After all, the elderly man gave up on Mr. Lawson back then.
