Chapter 9 Kicked the Old Man
- Thea promptly held Rowan firmly in her arms, her fair face written with worry as she began checking the little one's body up and down. "Rowan, are you hurt anywhere?"
- Smelling her faint fragrance, Rowan shook his head awkwardly. "I'm fine."
- "Thea?" When Sebastian saw Thea, his mind connected all the dots together, and he pointed angrily at Rowan. "This child is yours? You didn't abort him back then?"
- Thea did not expect that after four years of avoidance, she would still be reunited with Sebastian. She subconsciously hugged Rowan tightly and said, "The boy is mine alone, and he has nothing to do with you."
- "Are you joking? You planned to give birth to my son in secret, and now you suddenly let him come to take pictures of me. Who the hell knows what you want to do? Is it money or fame you want? Say it to me straight..."
- "Miss Stratford, right?" Julie also stood out at this moment, her eyes flashing with a maternal glow as she lightly caressed her belly. It was as if she was declaring to the world her position as the legal wife. "If you want money, I can give you that. But if you want the position of Mrs. Jennings, that may not work with me because I am also pregnant with Sebastian’s child."
- With that, she then looked at Rowan seriously and continued, "The child is innocent, so don’t use his feelings to attack Sebastian. As for today's matter, we will not pursue it, but I hope you educate him well in the future and don’t let him go astray. As for the alimony, we will definitely pay everything we owe.”
- Her gentleness and generosity made it look as if Thea had done something terrible.
- "I'll say it one last time. Today is just a chance encounter, and my child's surname is Stratford! Also, I don't care about the Jennings Family’s alimony!"
- After thinking about it, Thea elegantly smiled at Julie. "Miss Morris, since you care so much about my son, I'll kindly remind you that your taste is really bad."
- "You—"
- "This man is a playboy, and he has been with a truckload of women. Besides, he also likes to rub salt into people’s wounds. He only loves you for your background and not you as a person, so even if you are married, he will still spend time out there hooking up and drinking. In other words, he’s a terrible choice."
- When Rowan heard this, his eyes lit up. Smiling and nodding, he said, "Yes, Miss, you should let go of your terrible choice.”
- At this, Julie froze, while Sebastian's face was extremely unpleasant.
- ...
- On the fifth floor of the same shopping mall in a lavishly decorated Western-style restaurant, the saxophone echoed throughout the room, and the air was filled with the faint scent of flowers.
- Ethan sat by the window while Benedict sat opposite him. It was rare that they ate together in a restaurant, and their handsome faces looked almost exactly the same.
- When Cordelia came back after adjusting her dress, the father and son were sitting silently with each other as usual.
- "Why didn’t you come back for so long?" Ethan raised his eyebrows slightly in an impatient manner.
- "I met a crazy woman in the restroom and almost ruined my dress." Cordelia smiled apologetically. Holding onto Ethan's wrist, she pouted and continued, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for making you guys wait for me. I said I would accompany Benny out to play..."
- Ethan was usually very busy at work, so she had to make up an excuse and said she wanted to be with Benedict in order to ask him out.
- In a gentlemanly way, Benedict said, "Miss Cordelia, it’s okay. You may go ahead and chat with my father. There’s no need to mind me.”
- “Benny, you’re really so understanding. If I could be your mother, I would really give you anything you want…” Cordelia said blushingly.
- The meaning of her words was obvious enough, right? Yet Ethan was icy and continued to look expressionless as he ordered the food.
- However, Cordelia was not discouraged. After all, they had been engaged for four years, and she was the only woman who could be by his side. She believed that one day, she would become the rightful Mrs. Jennings. But when she thought of Benedict, her eyes darkened.
- I wonder who the mother of this child is?
- "What do you want to eat, Benny?" she asked with a smile.
- "Tomato-flavored steak," Benedict answered politely, sitting up straight. Being short, he had to stretch his arm to get a paper towel.
- His line of sight just happened to be at the window at this moment, and he saw Thea and Rowan facing the others downstairs. It seemed like they were in trouble.
- Seeing that Benedict's eyes had been gazing toward downstairs, Ethan lazily raised his eyes. From his angle, he could only see Thea and Sebastian. Since both father and son were staring downstairs, Cordelia also took a curious look and saw Thea's face clearly. "It's her again?"
- Ethan's arrogant jaw withdrew slightly. "You know her?"
- "I collided with her just now in the restroom," Cordelia explained with a smile. "Her name is Thea Stratford, and she is the daughter of the side branch family of Kay Stratford. But a few years ago, he filed for bankruptcy, and her fiancé, Sebastian Jennings, also broke off the engagement with her. Look, that guy standing next to her is Sebastian, and I think he should address you as ‘Uncle’…”
- "Sebastian Jennings?" Ethan repeated the words.
- The Jennings Family was the top family in Trentworth City, so the family relationship network was huge. Although the main branch was easily recognizable, the side branches were complicated. But he also remembered as if he had seen this name in the Jennings family tree.
- "Is it the one who likes to mess around with female celebrities?"
- Cordelia seemed a little embarrassed but said, "Yes, that’s the one. I thought after the dissolution of the engagement, Thea and Sebastian would have no further interaction. I did not expect that they would be entangled with each other in public like this. I wonder if she’s after Sebastian for money? If the paparazzi catches them, they’ll probably be in the news again.”
- When Ethan heard this, disgust flashed in his eyes.
- Feeling dissatisfied with Cordelia's comments, Benedict pursed his mouth and said, "I think that woman is not as nasty as you think, Miss Cordelia. There may be some misunderstanding, right?”
