Chapter 82 Rowan Had a Bet With the Devil
- Benedict had fallen into the water when he was young, so he had been afraid of water ever since he was conscious of his surroundings. Therefore, he also refused to learn to swim. Even though Ethan had tried to coerce him into learning that, all attempts ended in failure. Plus, Gregory kept on deterring Ethan by citing that Benedict was still too young. Yet, Ethan seemed determined this time to force him to attend swimming lessons.
- “It’s precisely because of his aquaphobia that I need him to attend swimming lessons.” Benedict is being increasingly rebellious, Ethan thought, but he couldn’t punish the boy because of his weak constitution due to premature birth. Therefore, Ethan decided to threaten him using his fear in order to rid him of his habit of lying. If he lied, he would have to attend swimming lessons.
- Ethan raised his chin arrogantly, his face appearing grim even under the afternoon sun. He was waiting for the boy to beg for his mercy. Unexpectedly, Rowan turned away. With the back of his head to Ethan, he demanded, “I will neither attend the lessons nor have my meals unless you let me see my mother.”
