Chapter 3 The Jennings Family's Little Prince
- Four years later, in the design department of Borlee Group.
- The company was in deep trouble, and everyone was fighting over the chance to take over the design rights of the Birthday Villa for the little prince of the Jennings Family.
- After all, the Jennings Family was the top of the four giant families in Trentworth City.
- Soon, the young master of the Jennings Family—also known as the little prince—would turn four, and the elders of the Jennings Family had been sending gifts.
- There was a cruise ship, a company, a stock fund, and naturally, someone was sending a super luxurious villa! Thus, Borlee Group received the order to take on the interior designing for the little prince's super luxurious villa.
- "That's enough!" Jocelyn Young, the director of the design department, slammed the table violently. "What are you guys arguing about? Look at Thea! She’s doing her own work peacefully and designing whatever that is given to her. Is it really more fun to fight over a project?”
- At this, the crowd stopped talking.
- Thea, who was mentioned, was speechless for a while.
- To be honest, I was just lost in thought. Today is my precious son’s first day in kindergarten. Hmm… I hope he’ll be able to cope with it.
- Jocelyn continued, "Don’t think that this is an easy job. The Jennings Family’s little prince has never appeared in public, so no one knows his preferences? If the design is not good, the little prince can destroy your career in a fit of rage!"
- The crowd was silent. It’s indeed terrifying to serve the powerful.
- "I will submit a potential name list to them. If you want to participate in this project, come to me to sign up."
- The crowd that had just been clamoring incessantly scattered at once, leaving only a few designers who were quite confident in themselves.
- Nodding, Jocelyn wrote their names down on the list. Seeing Thea sitting there, she added in passing, "Thea, why don't you also give it a shot?"
- With some hesitation, Thea responded, "I have a little too much going on at home lately. I'm afraid I will affect everyone's progress—"
- "You will certainly not be the main designer. I’ll just put your name in to make up the body count.”
- Jocelyn waved her pen, put Thea's information on the list as well, and submitted it to the Jennings Family's little prince's housekeeper with one click.
- Thea thought to herself that her design director was right. After all, she had been in Borlee Group for four years and usually never got to participate in any great projects.
- At that moment, the phone resting on the desk suddenly rang...
- Thea took a look and noticed that it was the kindergarten calling. Realizing that something must have happened to her son, she hurriedly applied for leave with Jocelyn, then rushed all the way to Golden Sun kindergarten, only to find that her son, Rowan Stratford, had actually run out!
- Thea was so anxious that she was about to call the police when suddenly she heard a childish voice ringing out from opposite the kindergarten.
- "Thea!"
- Hearing this, Thea looked toward the source of the sound in a panic.
- Rowan was wearing a denim jacket, black sweatpants, and little black shoes. His neat short hair hung above his delicate and flawless face, and his bright black eyes were crystal clear. At this moment, he had a backpack on his back.
- The little one was waving toward Thea with an excited face.
- When Thea saw her son, she was finally relieved.
- Walking over to pick up Rowan’s school bag, she pursed her lips and admonished, "Today is your first day at school. Did I not tell you to listen to the teacher? You just ran out like that! How anxious the teacher and I were!"
- Rowan instantly pouted. "You still have the nerve to say that! You originally said that you would accompany me to school, but it turned out to be Grandma instead!"
- Thea smiled. "I was busy with work. I’ve got to arrive at the company at 7.00 AM, but your school starts at 9.00 AM—"
- "Then I don't want to go to school; I want to stay with you." Rowan’s clear eyes widened to stare at Thea. "Anyway, I’ve already learned everything the kindergarten teaches. It’s like eating back something that I’ve spat out. There is no point in doing that."
- At that, the little one's forehead was flicked by Thea.
- "Ow!" Feeling the pain, Rowan puffed out his cheeks, pouting.
- "You're making everyone worry by skipping school, and you're still trying to justify it? Do you want to go to boarding school?"
- Rowan let out a long breath. "Okay, I allow you to keep me in kindergarten, but you must pick me up and drop me off every day. Otherwise, I won't behave myself, and you know the teacher can't watch me all the time."
- Thea was speechless. How dare this brat still try to discuss terms with me?
- But her son was indeed very smart with all the ideas running in his head. Coupled with his delicate and harmless look, he wielded immense power and charm. She was not at all surprised that he was able to escape from the kindergarten.
- Four years ago, she had bribed the nurse to make a fake abortion slip to hide her pregnancy from Sebastian. But unexpectedly, at eight months, an accidental fall resulted in the premature birth of the twins. Unfortunately, the other baby did not make it as a result...
- The tip of her nose burning, Thea felt even more heartache for her child. "Deal. Now, will you go back to school with me?"
- By the roadside, a low-profile Bentley quietly parked under the trees. Its dark-colored body stood out with its smooth and distinctive lines. Inside the specially-installed car window, a quiet little boy sat with a taut face and a straight back.
- The little boy looked to be around three or four years old, but his thin lips were habitually pursed up, and his handsome face was filled with a kind of sophistication and iciness that did not match his age. Inadvertently, he saw the mother and son passing by, and when Rowan turned around to make a face at Thea, the boy’s deep and inky pupils faintly flickered.
- That boy actually looked exactly like him!
