Chapter 12 Young Master Benedict, This Is Your Home
- "Actually, I—" Benedict wondered how he should explain it.
- "Rowan, where did you get the clothes on you?" However, Thea suddenly interrupted him.
- Benedict’s eyes widened when he heard that, and his anxiety dissipated.
- Is she simply suspecting about my clothes?
- Thea went around behind the little one and turned the collar of his jacket outward slightly. It was indeed Bonpoint, a French luxury brand for children.
- While Benedict was secretly wondering how to explain his clothes away, Thea slowly leaned down and muttered, “Did Sebastian take you to buy your clothes?"
- Sebastian should be that man who argued with Thea, right?
- "Yeah, it's him."
- "Strange, he was still bossing you around just now, so why was he suddenly willing to buy you clothes now?" Thea was puzzled because it had just happened during the short period of time that she went to get the car models.
- Benedict blinked slightly. "I don’t really know what he was thinking either."
- "Forget it. It's rare that he's willing to do his duty as a father." Thea checked the boy and felt that it was indeed her son, so she no longer dwelled on it.
- "What else happened during the time I was away?"
- Benedict said, "Nothing. I'm just a little hungry."
- "Grandma must have made dinner. Then let's go back quickly as the bus is going to stop by soon." Thea picked up Rowan with one arm and quickly went to the nearby bus stop.
- The sudden sense of intimacy made Benedict's eyebrows furrow slightly, but soon a warmth that he had never experienced before made him unconsciously relax.
- So, this is what a mother’s embrace feels like?
- There was the same cape jasmine fragrance as Cordelia, but Thea’s smelled better and more natural, so he liked it better. The little boy's face, which had always been expressionless, began to blush.
- "Why don't you put your arms around me?" Thea teased.
- Benedict hesitated for a moment. "Is it okay?"
- He had studied etiquette before, and it taught him that his behavior needed to be dignified, plus he was aloof by nature and rarely took the initiative to get close to others.
- "What's wrong with that? Don't you usually like to hug me?" Thea wondered if her son was too hungry, for he was acting rather weirdly and becoming rather restrained.
- Then, Benedict withdrew his head, and he stretched out his arms to tentatively wrap them around Thea's neck, his heart surging with emotion. He never thought he would experience the warm motherly love from a woman he did not know. Smiling in satisfaction, he called out, "Mommy..."
- "What's wrong?"
- “Nothing. I just wanna call out to you.” Tilting his head, Benedict leaned on Thea's shoulder, and his arms tightened around her neck. He was suddenly so envious of the little boy called Rowan.
- If I can make him stay in the Jennings Manor forever as me...
- Thinking of this, Benedict shook his head again. As the son of Ethan Jennings, there were responsibilities that he needed to take. But right now, he just wanted to be a little boy in his mother's arms for just a moment. He had stolen this little bit of time from his childhood that he never had.
- ...
- The night soon fell, and a speeding car rushed toward the luxurious and imposing Jennings Manor. Soon, the large iron gates were pulled open, welcoming the car’s arrival in the night.
- A row of uniformed doormen stood at the iron gate, respectfully lowering their heads to welcome the return of Young Master Benedict. Then, the car stopped, and Gregory pulled open the door, smiling gently. "Young Master Benedict, we're home."
- Rowan kept observing the nearby terrain to find the most suitable route to escape, yet who knew that the further the car drove, the more rural the surroundings became, and now they were halfway up a mountain.
- This is not that old man's home at all. It must be a human trafficker’s!
- However, there was an open-air pool, a fountain, giant statues, and even a massive sports field here. Everything was as luxurious as a palace.
- Sitting up straight, Rowan was now even more suspicious of why they kidnapped him.
- When Gregory saw that Rowan did not get up, he bent down and picked the little one up with a kind and amiable smile. "Young Master Benedict, don't be angry now. Why don’t I give you a hug?”
- "Don't think I'll trust you just because of this!" Kidnapper!
- Rowan puffed up in anger and glared at Gregory with big eyes, who was amused by the boy’s dramatic expression.
- "Young Master Benedict, I think these are not the clothes you were wearing when you went out..."
- Rowan did not listen to him but raised his head instead and glanced at the gold letters above the high archway.
- Jennings Manor.
- The print was strong and powerful, causing Rowan's eyes to widen in shock.
- Although he had never been in contact with the Jennings Family, he had secretly checked the family tree after he knew he was related to them. Thus, he knew that this place was where the first son of the Jennings Family lived.
- According to his generation, he should call the owner of this place ‘Grandfather’. Moreover, according to the rumors, this grandfather of his was a decisive, cold, and ruthless man. He was also known as the king of the business world...
- "Why did you bring me here?" Rowan trembled as horrible thoughts flashed through his mind. Could it be that Ethan Jennings was angered by me, so he deliberately sent me here to get me killed? I miss Teddy. We've been very dependent on each other since I was a baby, so if I’m no longer around, she will be very sad. What should I do?
- Gazing at Rowan in disbelief, Gregory reached out to touch the boy’s forehead. Luckily, there was no fever. However…
- "Don't you remember, Young Master Benedict? This is your home." What exactly did Ethan do to the boy that he didn't even recognize his own home?
- “My home? Who are you kidding? I don’t live here.” Without Thea, even a luxurious palace was nothing to Rowan.
- Although he was afraid and angry, right now, there was a more important thing he had to do, and that was to pee. After all, he had held it in for a long time.
- Rowan restlessly struggled in Gregory’s arm. In the end, since Gregory was old, Rowan agilely jumped out of his arms. Although he only had small legs, he was fast, and soon he was out of Gregory’s sight.
- Gregory couldn’t even catch up to him.
- ...
- It was already 9.00 PM when Ethan ended the boring meal with Cordelia.
- In the speeding car, Dylan gripped the steering wheel tightly, his eyes shifting toward the back mirror to glance at Ethan.
- As soon as Ethan remembered Benedict, who had dared to go up against him just now, his expression became incomparably cold.
- "Where is that kid now?"
- As his cold voice came from the back seat, Dylan pretended to ask innocently, "Young Master Ethan, didn't you order us not to go after Young Master Benedict?"
- Ethan’s eyes darkened at that, and his anger suddenly filled the car. "You guys just let a 3-year-old run around outside like that?"
- Dylan cleared his throat; if not for such a terrible atmosphere, he would have laughed out loud. After all, he knew that Ethan’s heart often softened for Benedict. Even though he always said that he didn’t care about the boy, he actually loved him very much in his heart.
