Chapter 4 Am I Reincarnated
- “Cassandra Raeburn, you little w*nch! You're hiding in your room again, aren't you? Look at the time. Why haven't you made us any food? Do you want Lucian and me to starve?”
- The piercing sound echoed, and Cassandra opened her eyes. Her voice was hoarse, and the intense pain felt as if it was tearing her body apart. She was in such agony that her body arched, and she abruptly sat up, the upper half of her body erect.
- She touched her throat, then her shoulder and abdomen. Her eyes widened in surprise. What just happened?
- She remembered her encounter with two wolves in the forest. She was defenseless and, in no time at all, the wolves had her cornered and killed.
- The distant yet steadfast voice of “Cassandra” was her wolf's call.
- “Haley?” Cassandra called out again.
- “Yes, Cassandra. I'm here.”
- “What's going on? I thought you had left me,” Cassandra exclaimed, both shocked and thrilled.
- “Yes, but I returned because you were reincarnated,” Haley explained. “A werewolf with a restless heart who dies on a full moon night is granted a second chance by the Moon Goddess. However, this requires an incredibly strong conviction.”
- Cassandra found this utterly unbelievable, as if she were in a dream. However, she trusted that Haley wouldn't deceive her.
- If she had truly been reincarnated, then the next course of events should be that rascal Lucian urging her to come downstairs and pack her things.
- In the next moment, Lucian's irritating voice could be heard.
- “Hey, b*tch! Come down now and help me pack my bag. I still have school tomorrow!”
- Cassandra widened her eyes, wanting to double-check. However, Haley urged her to go downstairs. As expected, it was Sienna who was showing her displeasure, complaining about the poor quality of the meal.
- Cassandra hurriedly descended the stairs, only to find Sienna and Lucian wearing expressions of impatience. She clenched her fist tightly, managing to suppress the surge of anger welling within her.
- “Cassandra, don't be rash. We can't let others know about the reincarnation! The repercussions would be grave,” Haley warned in a hushed tone.
- Cassandra pursed her lips, moving into the kitchen. Half an hour later, she emerged, carrying the prepared meals.
- “Dinner's ready.” Her face was void of any hint of a smile.
- “How dare you give me that attitude at my dinner table, you little b*tch! I'll call Alpha this instant and have him break the bond with you!”
- Just as she remembered, Cassandra's eyes widened in disbelief. Indeed... she had truly been reincarnated. This was no dream.
- “Alpha will be home soon, and he'll discuss moving out of the pack with you!” Haley continued to remind.
- A sharp pain suddenly seized Cassandra's heart, her mind racing on how to handle the situation. She paid no mind to the incessant curses and insults hurled from Sienna and Lucian behind her.
- The words spoken were identical to those in her past life, essentially implying that Cassandra was not worthy of being Luna and that Meredith was about to return and so on.
- Upon hearing the name Meredith, Cassandra's eyes narrowed slightly. In her past life, it was after seeking Meredith that she was pursued and killed by those two werewolves. Her death, she realized, was inextricably linked to Meredith.
- She turned around and found them looking at her. One was impatiently watching her, while the other had a face that seemed eager for some drama. They were just waiting for Cassandra to show a distressed and heartbroken expression.
- Unfortunately, the present Cassandra had already become immune to these verbal attacks.
- She took a deep breath, her face adorned with a faint smile as she looked at the mother and son. “So? You've been saying you'd drive me out of Dark Moon Pack for six years now.”
- Sienna had never expected that Cassandra, who had been compliant for six years, would dare to talk back. She pointed her forefinger at Cassandra, scolding, “You! You! You little wretch! You've learned to answer back now! Who gave you the nerve!”
- “Lucian, fetch me the whip! I'll make sure this b*tch learns the rules of Dark Moon Pack!”
- Cassandra let out a cold laugh. Before Lucian could draw his whip, Alpha had already returned.
- Alpha had a lean figure. His handsome features were extraordinary, and his aura was outstanding. It was not an overstatement to say he was even more attractive than the famous celebrities.
- Upon entering the room, he saw his mother once again looking as if she was about to whip Cassandra. He couldn't help but frown at Cassandra, saying, “Let's go upstairs. I need to talk to you.”
- Cassandra had grown tired of dealing with the brash Sienna behind her. As for the events about to unfold, she already had a plan in mind.
- The pair found themselves in the study. Before Thaddeus could utter a word, Cassandra beat him to it. “Are you trying to push me out of Dark Moon Pack? Is it because your first crush has awakened?”
- Thaddeus spoke in a deep voice. “Lucian told you? It's good that you know in advance. You should move out by tomorrow.”
- “Okay,” Cassandra agreed decisively, appearing nonchalant on the surface, but in reality, she was feeling incredibly distressed inside.
- Despite six years of trying, Cassandra failed to warm Alpha's cold heart. She felt she was quite unsuccessful as his destined mate.
- Thaddeus watched her enduring all hardships thrown her way, and for a moment, he was filled with indescribable emotions.
- Thaddeus frowned, his face cold, and his expression was unusually serious. He wasn't sure if her quick agreement was another one of her tricks.
- “You better not play any tricks, nor think about bringing this matter to Grandma.” Thaddeus's dark eyes were icy cold, devoid of any warmth. “I know, it was you who hit Meredith with your car. After Meredith woke up, she told me she wouldn't hold you responsible. Pack up and leave tonight...”
- “Thaddeus,” Cassandra interrupted him, “If I say it wasn't me, would you believe me?” Cassandra stared at Thaddeus with a serious expression. She knew the answer she would receive wouldn't change, but she still asked again, holding onto a sliver of hope.
