- The morning sun streamed through the opulent windows of the Allen estate, casting long shadows across the meticulously kept lawn. Inside the grand hall, Frederick Allen sat at the head of a vast mahogany table, his fingers drumming impatiently against the polished wood. His usually composed demeanor was replaced with a tense, simmering fury.
- The door to the hall swung open, and Mr. Thompson entered, flanked by two burly guards. Between them, they dragged a bruised and battered William. His face was swollen, and blood trickled from a cut above his eyebrow. He could barely stand, his legs giving way as the guards hauled him forward and forced him into a chair opposite Frederick.
- "Mr. Allen," Mr. Thompson said with a respectful nod, "as you requested, here is William."
