• Startled by his sudden consciousness and his unusual sense of panic, I reflexively stiffened as I tried to think of what to do next.
• He must've noticed my tenseness because he started to lightly tug on my arm, trying to pull me down toward him. "Please... Just stay... It's all I need..."
