"No adult will be coming, and neither will it be necessary. I know how to take care of her so you can leave now."
I sighed, frustratingly ruffling my hair. It was talking to a brick wall. "Look, kid. I'm sure you know what you're doing, but I can't leave you guys like this. At least let me help you change—"
