Chapter 6 Because I Like You

  • Sofia stared up stubbornly at Sergio Vincenzo and refused to go down on her knees, after glaring at her for a minute, Sergio took a step back and ordered for his guards to come in.
  • Two of his men rushed into the ward and stood behind him. “Make her go on her knees,” Sergio Vincenzo ordered, his hands inserted into his pockets.
  • The two guards immediately obeyed, they forced Sofia to her knees and held her down, despite her struggles with them.
  • “Lift her head,” Sergio authorized, and his guards carried out his orders. They yanked Sofia's head backwards with speed, almost breaking her neck. They forced her eyes up and made her stare at him.
  • Sergio Vincenzo examined her for a while before lowering down to her size.
  • “You'll begin your training today, it seems you are still very stubborn. I hate ladies like you who think men should handle them with care.” Sergio Vincenzo scoffed.
  • Sofia managed to snicker despite the extreme pain she was feeling.
  • “Get out,” Sergio Vincenzo called, and his guards rushed out of the ward, leaving them alone. Sofia remained on her knees but couldn't stop staring at him, she was beginning to fear him more, but her fears came with hatred for him.
  • She hated the fact that he was the perfect definition of what people defined him to be, well aside from the ugly part because he was nowhere near ugly.
  • Sergio stood straight, he walked around her slowly and carefully, like a predictor to his prey, he suddenly stopped behind her and kept silent.
  • “You have disturbed my peace a lot and I can't wait to put you in your place, you seem perfectly okay, which I expected you to be.
  • Richard?” He called, and a guard rushed in.
  • “Capo,” Richard answered.
  • “Bring her to the cabin,” Sergio ordered before walking out of the ward.
  • Richard walked to Sofia and dragged her up harshly.
  • He started dragging her out, but Sofia bite him on his hand, Richard stopped and glared at her.
  • “What did you just do, bitch?” He groaned, but Sofia only kept staring at him.
  • “Do you have a death wish, huh?” He lifted his hand to slap her, but on seeing Rocco standing there, staring at him, he took his hand down.
  • “Just bring her back, Richard, don't carry out orders you weren't asked.” Rocco cautioned before going after Sergio.
  • “You are one lucky bitch, but I'm still going to deal with you,” Richard promised before he continued dragging her down the hospital hallway to their cars.
  • Richard forced Sofia into a car filled with many other guards like him. She was made to sit in between them, and she felt uncomfortable.
  • “I think this bitch doesn't know what she got herself into, imagine, she tried to assassinate Capo.” A guard sitting with the driver suddenly spoke up, and the rest of them chuckled at his statement.
  • “What was she thinking, tho? Doesn't she read the papers or watch the television at least?” He continued.
  • One of the guards turned and looked at Sofia with a funny face, Sofia rolled her eyes at him, but he only laughed.
  • “What's so funny?” She breathed out in anger and folded her arms.
  • “Now, darling, I'll advise you to stop defying our boss and instead beg for forgiveness each time you see him, although I doubt you'll still get out of this alive. But you'll at least get a quicker death by pleading,” one of the guards beside her said with a mockery tone, and some of them laughed.
  • She lifted her head to look at Richard, who hasn't said a word or smiled either, he only kept his gaze straight.
  • Richard looked down at her in anger, he rolled his eyes and looked up, averting her gaze.
  • Getting to their destination, Sofia was dragged down from the car by Richard, Richard dragged her to Rocco who was standing in front of Sergio Vincenzo's Mansion, and it seemed like he was waiting for Richard to bring her to him.
  • “Here she is,” Richard told Rocco through gritted teeth, as if he were angry about something else.
  • He pushed her towards Rocco and turned to leave, but Rocco stopped him.
  • “Richard?” Rocco called, Richard stopped in his tracks and turned to look at him.
  • “What is it?”
  • Sofia looked between the two guys in front of her. Everyone seems to fear and obey Rocco except Richard, he was also staring at Rocco stubbornly.
  • “We'll talk later,” Rocco simply said and turned his gaze towards Sofia.
  • “Follow me,” he declared and started going into the house, Sofia followed him into the house. They climbed the stairs and continued down a long hallway which was painted in black and grey.
  • Everything in the house was either painted in black or grey, there was no lively colour. Everything looked so dead and quiet as they walked down the long hallway until Rocco stopped in front of a door.
  • He threw the door open and asked Sofia to enter, Sofia entered the room without much hesitation and Rocco followed her in, closing the door behind her.
  • Sofia looked around the room, which was filled with different kinds of fighting knives.
  • “You will start your training here this evening, this will be your first training.” Rocco pointed out.
  • I am already good with knives, Sofia wanted to say but kept quiet.
  • “Martina will be the one also training you, I'll ask her not to go too hard on, but in exchange…” Rocco turned to look at her.
  • “Stop being stubborn, stop making Sergio Vincenzo angry,” Rocco demanded.
  • Sofia turned her gaze towards him.
  • “Why? Why should I stop?” She stared at him.
  • “Defying him will only bring you to your death. “
  • “Even if I obey each of his instructions, I'm still going to die, so why should I bother?” Sofia retorted, gritting her teeth in anger.
  • “You are truly stubborn.” Rocco scoffed.
  • “Why do you even care how I act anyway, why do you care if I die?” Sofia polled, taking a step towards him.
  • “What do you think? Because I like you.” Rocco replied, his eyes roaming her body.
