• That was strange of mom. I couldn’t stop gaping at her, wondering why she wanted to see a man she hated so much. Mom had never desired to see Brian when he was insane. Mere thought of Brian irritated her like plaque. I could recall several times she yelled at me when I mentioned Brian in our discussion.
• “So why is she demanding to see him now?” I asked in my mind, “What is she up to? Is mom for real? Could this be a dream? This is strange. What is mom up to?” I asked yet further while I gaped at mom.
