• The study was right at the end of a separate wing of the mansion, I’d found it after taking a lot of twists and turns and opening and closing a lot of doors. Her house was massive but so was mine. I would have found my way easily enough if the idiot Zach had drawn the directions accurately.
• Zach had told me Dani preferred not to study in her bedroom and had her own space downstairs separate from her mother’s home office. He’d let on that she kept most of her valuable stuff in this room and wasn’t sure if there was a hidden safe in either place. He had already combed through her bedroom the night he was caught by her brother and was positive that the phone was not in there.
