Chapter 5 Would I Get to be Mrs Hayden?
- Morgan hurried over when he heard the commotion. "Are you crazy? How could Selena and Serena be related? Selena was burned to ashes in that fire. And now you've offended Mr. Hayden's fiancée just because you had some delusional thoughts about her? What are we going to do now?" he cried.
- "Morgan, I…" The atmosphere was tense between both of them. Meanwhile, Selena had already headed upstairs to change out of her dirty evening gown, and she was fixing her makeup in front of the mirror. The woman's face in the mirror looked especially icy and grim. She had changed into a red, backless dress that was extremely eye-catching. Upon finishing her makeup, she curled her lips into a devilish smile. I'm going to make you guys suffer, Naomi and Morgan! You guys are going to pay!
- After Selena was done getting changed, the actual event began. She slipped her arm around Dimitri's as they walked up on stage. The crowd eyed her enviously—they couldn't believe that some simple village girl would get the chance to become Dimitri's fiancée. Meanwhile, Naomi kept her eyes fixed on Selena the moment Selena resurfaced, and she stared until she finally got a look at Selena's back. There's no birthmark! Why isn't there a birthmark?
- Morgan, who was standing beside Naomi, was also shocked to see how similar Selena and Serena looked. However, his face remained calm and stern. "Look at that. You must have annoyed Miss Young earlier. What are we supposed to do now?!" he growled. Naomi couldn't stand the man's impatient tone, so she responded in an equally hostile voice. "She's just some girl from the village, and Dimitri doesn't like her. There's no use for us to get on her good side," she hissed.
- Dimitri and Selena were exchanging rings on the stage. The woman's diamond ring twinkled under the stage lights as she beamed at the man. "I'm so excited to become Mrs. Hayden someday, Dimitri."
- "In your dream," he muttered icily. Then, he thought bitterly, If Grandpa hadn't physically blackmailed me, I wouldn't even have shown up at this engagement! Selena beamed as she walked down the stage. Right then, a woman, who was standing beside Denise, stopped Selena in her tracks. "You're really pretty, and I believe you're an outstanding woman, Miss Young. I was wondering if you had any talents that you could show the crowd!" The woman's words had a hint of sarcasm in them. She's just some village girl who got out of high school, isn't she? What sort of talent could she possibly have? The crowd was excited to see what was about to happen.
- Selena took a long look at the woman before her eyes. The woman was dressed in an elegant and expensive outfit. She looked like one of the rich man's daughters. "Who are you to ask me to do anything?" Selena asked with an icy smirk.
- The woman didn't seem triggered by Selena's words as she maintained a pleasant smile on her face. "I'm Leah from the Olsen Family, and I'm also Hayden Corporation's costume designer. There's a piano on stage, Miss Young. Why don't we have a small competition?" Before Selena could say anything, Leah walked over to the piano placed in the middle of the stage. She gracefully sat down before preparing to play a song.
- Denise stared at Selena with a gloating look on her face. "How are you feeling, Serena? Are you panicking now? I bet you've never touched a piano in your life, huh?"
- "Yeah. I'm so afraid. What should I do, Dimitri? Leah's bullying me," Selena wailed half-heartedly.
- Dimitri's expression remained blank as he spoke. "Didn't you want to become Mrs. Hayden? Can't you deal with such a small matter?"
- Selena blinked. "Are you saying that I'd get to be Mrs. Hayden if I can deal with this?"
