Chapter 9 Crystal Chime
- The sound, clear and transparent, just like the sound of victory and joy, filled the space. I pulled out the bottom glass and managed to step back before the whole structure came crashing down. The man was flooded up to his knees by this stream of crystal and sweet fizzy drink, while my ex"friend was almost covered up to her neck. I really hope I didn't physically harm them both with my actions, so I watched closely for a while. Wet Chris got up and stared at me in surprise. Meanwhile, the man was glaring at me as fiercely as when I spilled a glass of milkshake on him. Only this time, it wasn't a simple accident for which I would apologize. Someone in the crowd laughed, and I realized it was time to switch on my innocence and pretense mode. Screaming loudly, I ran up to my friend and pretended to be concerned about her health and well"being.
- "I'm so clumsy. I can't understand how this happened. Are you okay?"
- Chris was surprised as if it had suddenly snowed in the middle of summer and the temperature had dropped to zero.
