Chapter 48 The Grand Fall

• Kira handed me the keys and solemnly informed me that everything had been fixed. The girl was already ready to go shopping when I returned, so all that was left was for me to freshen up after the trip. The heat outside no longer knocked me off my feet, and the scorching rays didn't leave me feeling faint, so for the first time in a long time, I decided to dress up. I hadn't worn heels in a while, and the dresses were gathering dust on the shelves, neglected. From the entire collection of recently purchased items, I chose a beautiful light peach dress and paired it with high"heeled sandals. Something in me had changed recently, and I now preferred something cute and light over a bold look. Of course, shorts and t"shirts were my special love, but they were the only things left from my old wardrobe. There was now less decorative makeup in my cosmetics bag and more skincare products.

• "Are you okay if my brother joins us?" she asked. "I've entrusted him to oversee the business, so I need his explanation on the recent changes. Plus, someone has to carry our shopping bags."
